Service of Yaesu 757-GX Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I contacted Campbell by email about a peculiar problem I had with my Yaesu 757-GX. He responded immediately, and we agreed that he would do the work. He essentially found all the problems, and there were many small ones, unconnected, in a XCVR that is at least 20 years old. He treated like it was his own equipment. Three weeks later, exactly when he said it would be ready, it was. Using PayPal for payment, he sent it back. It works like a new machine. I would recommend him without reservation for any and all service issues.

You can imagine how bad I felt to buy a "mint" Yaesu FT-900CAT on eBay, for top $$, from a ham, only to find out it had the dreaded VCO/Display lock problem. Only one man on the planet to see -- Byron! He returned it to me, in good time, perfect working order, and fully tweaked. He even replaced the missing OEM carry handle for me. This fix was no trivial matter, and it's reassuring to know we have resources like Byron to rely on. The cost was extremely reasonable. I'll send all future repair business his way.

Byron is professional and competent. My Ft-900 needed the blinking screen VCO fix after 10 years of use. Byron did a great job and I'll use him again if required.

After returning to the air following a 21 year absence, I guess it was no surprise that my old FT-101ZD would develop problems. Finding someone who was willing to work on a 26 year old rig turned out to be a bit challenging.

I read the reviews of WA4GEG's repair service and decided to send him some e-mails with my problems. He was always quick to respond with suggested repairs and was very willing to look at the rig. I sent the rig to him in early August 2005 and the total turn-around time was about 4 weeks.

Overall, the service was outstanding and the rig is "better than new." Byron's documentation of the repairs was very concise and he even provided more information via e-mail! Before he shipped the rig back to me, he even set up a scheduled QSO with me so that I could hear the rig on the air (is that great or what!!).

Overall, the experience with Byron was superb - I would recommend his service to anyone.

Sent Byron a poor ole FT900 that I had bought as a summer project...then found out that it had the dreaded VCO unlock problem, as well as the side problem of having been exposed to a "golden screwdriver." Realising it was over my head, I called several folks and got excellent recommendations for Byron. Emailed him (use PLAIN TEXT for email, BTW) and arranged to send the FT900 to him. Turned out that it was a "bit" more difficult that first envisioned (due to above mentioned "G-S" problem) but he would not give up...got the FT900 running just great! I HIGHLY recommend Byron. And, thanks for the tips on the FT767GX, Byron...the ole gal is back on the air. Good service & a good ham!

First Class Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
First, I emailed Byron explaining the problem. He wrote back and suggested some possible causes. I sent him the radio (an FT-1000) with a note describing the problem, and about 5 weeks later, after paying for his labor, parts and return shipment, it came back. All the problems had been resolved. What more can you ask for? His charges were fair and itemized. I highly recommend him.

About a Month ago my TS-930 receiver went out,
I found out about Byron through an Previous Add.
I contacted Him via E-Mail, and was advised to send Him the Radio.He repaired it Time, sent it back in Great Shape. His Fees are reasonable, and he does really Good Work. Turnaround time is probally slower than some, but the wait is worth it. I would reccomend Byron, without any Reservation......Hank Burgin W5APA

Byron repaired and upgraded both of my FT-1000mp's with excellent workmanship and quick two week turn around time on each radio. If you have a FT-1000mp that need mods or repaired. Send it the Byron for a great job at a very fair price

After reading the reviews here on eham and going to his website, I sent Byron an email describing my rig and what I wanted done. He provided a very reasonable estimate, clear packing and shipping instructions, and a very reasonable return time frame. He not only returned the radio slightly early, but also at a lower cost than the estimate. He provided the return tracking number as well. He answered all my questions via email in a very timely manner, and the invoice provided with the returned radio is terrific. Many thanks, Byron, you have my future business.
