I am very satisfied with the repair work Byron did on my FT 990. He does excellent work at reasonable rates. If your Yaesu rig is in need of repair, call or email Byron. You won't be disappointed.

Service with Distinction Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I did business with Byron for the first time and I highly recommend him. My experience is no different than many others that have posted. Byron found my intermittent problem with the PLL circuitry on my FT-1000D. I truly feel that Byron has the only repair service that could have found that problem. In addition to repairing the radio, Byron installed 2.8K IF filters, a 500Hz CW filter in the sub receiver and performed the noise blanker mod. Wow…what a difference! Byron packed my rig for the return trip in a box with reinforced ½ inch walls and bubble wrap. I was especially impressed with the detailed service report that included an alignment checklist, results of sensitivity and frequency response measurements, and parts and labor itemizations. Byron contacted me after the rig was returned to insure I was satisfied with the work. I’ll bet that would never happen with any other service. Did I mention Byron’s modest repair pricing?

I had a MArk V 200 watt rig and I sent Byron a email and talked to him on the phone a couple of times. What a great guy to deal with. Very knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk with. Sent him my Mark V and he had it repaired and back in short order. Never worked this good ever. I cannot say enough about Byron. If you need anything done contact him and you will very satified no doubt

What can I add? Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
This guy is great. After reading all the other reviews, I felt safe sending him my FT-901DM. Now I know how he got this reputation. If you need your Yaesu worked on, this is the right guy. Thank you Byron, I will definently call again.

Top-notch repair, friendly service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My Mark V transceiver never really received all that well out of the box, and after a year and a half, started to develop some bad fading in and out. I'd pondered sending it back to Yaesu service, but past experience and e-ham reviews quickly talked me out of that.

Instead, I found Byron's repair service, Electronic Equipment Servicing. After seeing so many 5s and glowing reviews in this forum, I rang Byron up and we chatted for a while. My rig was on its way to him an hour later.

About 3 weeks later (as promised), I got an e-mail describing the problem (a failed -9v regulator) and the repair cost estimate was in line with what was quoted that first day. He also did a full alignment of the radio and performed several suggested aftermarket modifications as well.

The radio was shipped 2 days ago by UPS and it arrived safe and sound on this afternoon's Little Brown Truck of Joy. After testing it out all evening, I can say with confidence that Byron did an excellent job with my Mark V.

If you have a Yaesu HF rig of any vintage that needs some TLC, trust this gentleman with it! You'll be glad you did. Well done, Byron, and THANKS!

Repairs to FT-990 Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My FT-990 developed the dreaded turning on and off at one second rate. The factory service outlet in CA would have resulted in shipping from FL and a long wait, plus a hefty shipping charge BOTH WAYS. called Bryon, and he had a FT-990 that he could use as a test bed if I just sent the card. (A friend had a FT-990 and by substitution we knew which card was defective.) Sent the card in and Bryon fixed it (bad logic chip) and had it back in record time at a very REASONABLE PRICE. Good business man and an excellent tech. Try him!

Outstanding service. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I chose to have Byron service my 10+ year old FT1000MP because he replied to my email in detail as well as having a 5.0 rating here on eHam and specializing in Yaesu. He did not let me down. The radio is better than ever. Also, he took the time to pack it securely so that it made the return trip safely. It's a big heavy radio and I was concerned about it being shipped without damage. Too, Byron charges a fair price for his work.
Byron's work speaks for itself. He has earned his 5.0 rating.

Fantastic Service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My first new HF rig (FT757GX) decided to start giving me problems after 20 years. A good Ham friend told me about WA4GEG (Byron) so I contacted him about fixen the rig. Sent it off and before I knew it, it's back working on the table. From now on, I know who I will be sending all my radios to.. EEC... of course
Many thanks Byron.......

Prompt Professional Courteous and Thorough Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My Yaesu FT-920 was plagued with several annoying problems. Chiefly, intermittent low power output on 10 meters, RF feedback getting into the transmitted audio, consistant low average power output on all bands, and difficulty with the internal automatic antenna tuner. Further, the rig ran excessively warm with the fan almost constantly running accompanied by an odor of component overheating. These problems occured even while transmitting into a dummy load. Byron and I exchanged a couple of emails, and then I sent the rig to him for repair. After a quick turn around I'm happy to report that every issue was resolved to my complete satisfaction. The rig works better than new! Byron treats the equipment he services as if it were his own. His price was more than fair. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone!

Excellent Tech Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have a Yaesu FT920 that developed some intermittant power output problems and eventually it crashed and would not come back to life. After a moment of panic I decided to read the product reviews here on E-ham and see what kind of service other folks had experienced with the various repair facilities. I read them all and one stood out as being an excellent repair tech. That person is Byron, WA4GEG. I decided to give Byron an e-mail to get his input. After exchanging e-mails with him I felt certain that Byron was a top notch Yaesu tech. Byron was excellent at returning e-mails in a timely manner. He explained everything clearly in all of our exchanges of e-mails.As you may know, intermittant problems are very challenging to find and cure. Byron stayed on the 920's problems and never gave up till all of the issues were fixed. I can easily see why Byron has such a high rating. He is an excellent communicator, honest, very knowledgeable, and his pricing was extremely fair. I would not hesitate one minute to recommend his service to anyone. If I have any more problems you can rest assured that Byron will be my first choice for repairs or tune-ups etc. My 920 is working better than it did when it was new. I give Byron an A+++ !
