Works fine Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I am happy with my HLV-600. Used it also in our club for contesting many times. Works fine, get good audio reports and makes a clean signal. It is very robust with all kind of protections (swr, temp, overdrive) - ideal for contesting when operaters are nervous and untrained. Also build in is the supply over coax for a masthead preamp. The amp is compact and not to heavy. Because of the temperatur controlled fan it only makes some noise when it get warm. Big pro against valve amps: turn on and make QSO's without warm up and without tuning.

Abuse of Technology Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Open the top lid of any Beko linear and you'll see some disappointing stuff inside:

- Amplifier modules are open-frame. No shielding inside, using poor FR4 PCB material (VHF)

- Combiners/splitters are Wilkinson on FR4 material too - very poor. Also open-frame

- The output directional couplers are made by a small piece of semirigid, reworked with a rasp, and with some wire glued on ...

- Each linear has its own 220 V supply - even if there are many different linears (for 2m, 70cm, 23cm) available, which work on the same FET drain voltage. This wastes mass budget and (not at least) your money!

- An old-fashioned analogue panel meter ... without any more words ...

The only way to get a state-of-the-art VHF/UHF linear may be (unfortunately ...) do it yourself.

Beko's performance/price ratio is not better than a "2 of 5" ...

One of the best ! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Really, why use a tube-amplifier? This one is really one of the best I've ever used. Power-Switch on, PA-Switch ON and ready. 4 Watt IN, 550 Watt OUT on 144Mhz. I own this since many Years now without any Problems. I would never sell this Amplifier. And you can get even more Power with a biger one, op to 2400 Watt on 144Mhz!! So get one, now!!
