Review Summary For : PAR Electronics SM-50 6M Stressed Moxon
Reviews: 74MSRP: 109. USD
Description:
SM-50 Stressed Moxon 6M Antenna Occupies approximately 1/2 the footprint of traditional two element
yagis, yet has nearly identical electrical specifications. The radiator material selection results in a further reduction in size and weight over classical Moxons. Once the coupling unit is installed onto the main radiator using two #10-32 screws, assembling the rest of the antenna, including mast mounting and tuning, requires no tools. Ideal for mountain topping, roving and stealth operation. Horizontal polarity Forward Gain:

Should be priced higher Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Packing is superb, quite like a
real perfectionist managed the whole affair.

The antenna itself is elegant engineering and accomplished workmanship.
Solid, simple, and flawless in its execution with
even the documentation very well done.

Works much better for SSB than my 1/4 wave

If it was priced similar to the imported flotsam which has flooded the market it would cost twice as much.

Terrific on QRP! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I got on 6m SSB for the first time this weekend using the SM-50 with my FT-817 at 5 watts during the ARRL VHF Contest. I have restricted space and could only mount the antenna about 7 feet high on my patio (less than nominal for best SWR). Needless to say I was surprised when I was able to easily work Texas (some 1200 miles away) and NM within a few minutes!

The SM-50 is very easy to assemble and breaks down quickly for portable use. Finally, I've purchased several different models of antennas from Dale and the service and quality is out standing!!!

Fantastic Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had this antenna for almost 5 yrs. I am just as excited about it now, as when I first put it up. Small and structurally strong, a great antenna for performance and stealthyness in restricted areas.

Great for Rovers! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've been dealing with Dale at PAR for quite awhile. My first 6M MOXON was homebrew, and it worked fine for years--but when the PAR product came out, I gave it a try and have been very happy with the quality, performance and simplicity of the SM-50 product. Mine has several thousand miles, and several thousand QSO's on it. At the end of a taxing trip in June, my PAR Moxon broke--the thick plastic mounting bracket split in two! I wrote Dale an email, and he sent me a replacement--no charge! Great stuff.

OUTSTANDING Time Owned: N.A.
My SM-50 was our six meter antenna at FD this year...it goes together in seconds, mounts easily and is light enuf that one person can push up the mast with the antenna, no problem. It enabled us to work almost 40 six meter contacts, and about half of those were QRP when we needed the K3 at another position. It travels easily, seems almost bulletproof and following the instructions provided easy tuning on 50.125! I will keep this antenna for a long time. TNX DALE!!!!

I gotta agree... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
...with all of the previous 22 "fives" given for the Par Electronics 6m Stressed Moxon. For an antenna with a small footprint it has superb performance. And you can pound 1000 watts into to it! I have mine @ 25 feet and it makes working the Es a dream.

Great Design, Great Service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Well worth waiting for (if you happend to want one when PAR is overloaded with Gov't/MIL orders at the time you order! Assembles easily and quickly and performs perfectly right out of the box. Disassembled its surprisingly compact for travel use, and indeed comes right up to my 3 over 3 element 'normal' setup up at 33 feet. Dale is very personal and professional to deal with. Go for it!

Whats not to like! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Fast & friendly service, fair price, goes together like a dream, can be broken down for portable use, works, & seems sturdy. Only wish they made moxons for HF bands. N7AG

6m DX with an SM-50 Moxon Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The first Kansas station we worked on 6m from CY0X on Sable Island this summer via a difficult asymmetrical double-hop Es propagation path was W1OU using a PAR SM-50 Stressed Moxon & 100W. It works!
