Description:
SM-50 Stressed Moxon 6M Antenna Occupies approximately 1/2 the footprint of traditional two element
yagis, yet has nearly identical electrical specifications. The radiator material selection results in a further reduction in size and weight over classical Moxons. Once the coupling unit is installed onto the main radiator using two #10-32 screws, assembling the rest of the antenna, including mast mounting and tuning, requires no tools. Ideal for mountain topping, roving and stealth operation. Horizontal polarity Forward Gain:

Simply Fantastic Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was looking for a small “Magic Band” Antenna to place on my tower above my HF Beam and below my 2 meter beam. The space is extremely limited and I wanted as little antenna interaction as possible. Emails back & forth to Dale W4OP were my deciding factor on using his antenna. No matter how many emails I sent him, he always responded quickly & courteously. Now that is customer service and I’m wasn't even his customer. I’m sure some of my emails took him away from his work! After receiving the antenna, a wrong part was included and Dale took it upon himself to send the right part out immediaely via Express Mail at his expense, more customer service. Upon assembling the antenna I could only say “why didn’t I think of this.” A strong, lightweight, easy to assemble, real easy to tune and easy to disassemble, if needed. This antenna is perfect for a permanent station like mine, yet also perfect for portable operation! Since no help was around and I couldn’t wait; I climbed the tower myself and installed the antenna-now that’s lightweight. I am currently waiting for the “Magic Band” to open up and will report my contacts as soon as they are logged. Dale, Thank you for one heck of an antenna - $79.95; worth twice the price<:-)

Great value & performance! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I did a lot of research for my first and only 6M antenna. I wanted light weight, performance, and value. I got all three and then some. The antenna goes together in no time, tunes up easily, and is easily handled by my RadioSchack TV rotator on an unguyed mast. Turns out, the day I put it up was the last time the band opened hereabouts. Imagine my thrill when I came back in the shack, fired up the rig, selected the PAR Stressed Moxon, and I started hearing (and working) stations on the magic band. Since then it's been fairly dead, but I was able to snag a couple of QSOs from across Long Island Sound during the recent January VHF/UHF contest. I wholeheartedly recommend this antenna and look forward to what the summer will bring. Also, if you need any help (like figuring out which way the antenna fires - hi hi) Dale is very helpful on the phone.

Portability meets Performance! GREAT 6m antenna! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
The PAR 6m 'Stressed Moxon' is a revelation in smaller, lighter, directional antennas for the 6m band! Whether you decide to use this light, easy to set up antenna for portable or base work, it delivers in spades! I was able to test this antenna's performance, portable from '2 land' (FN30), by setting it up on a small lightweight mast sitting in an outdoor patio table, 15' off the ground. Running only 25 watts from a simple Ranger RCI-5054DX rig, and a portable 'Prestone' car battery charger, I was able to make many CW and SSB QSO's during some real nice summer 'Es' and recent fall 'Au' openings. SWR is very low (almost flat in my setup), and signal reports were very good in most of the 65 or so grids I worked while operating casually. The clincher was when I worked Arizona on 6m CW using the Par Moxon with my minimal setup!!! With small, lightweight antennas like the PAR on the marketplace, anyone can get into 6m with a minimum of money, and a maximum in performance return. This is easily one of the best price/performance/portability values for 6m out there!

A Novel Six MeterBeam AntennaThat"s a Winner Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Par has come up with a new twist for the classic Moxon rectangular beam antenna. Their novel approach has resulted in a 6 meter beam antenna which is lighter with a smaller footprint than the conventional Moxon with no loss in performance. My set-up was a 706 with 100 watts with both the Moxon and dipole at about 30ft. Results compared favorably with Par's. Compared to the reference dipole ,it gave about 6 Db gain with a front to back of 20 dB . In a recent E'S opening it held it's own with the big guns. It comes in kit form with assembly taking only about 15 min. I used a light weigh TV rotor with no problems. Since I travel between several location , it"s small size and ease of assembly make it ideal for portable operation.

It has it all.. light weigh , small size ,portable , competive performance all at a reasonable cost. Par( Dale W4OP) is to be congradulated for this much needed inovation. What's next Dale?
