Awesome Logging App!! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Well, I've been running Logger32 for over 12months now, and it's AWESOME!!

I used to use YPLog connect to my Kenwood TS-570DG, but when I changed my radio the software would'nt work correctly, so I was pointed in the direction of Logger32 by a couple of my friends.

I've now changed my HF radio twice since running Logger and it sings along.

The main thing I like about Logger32 is that it keeps a track of all my Awards, and also have it connected to a DXCluster and my Kenwood TS-870S.

For a free Logbook Application is up there with with the best, and I'll recommend it to anyone thinking of running a PC logbook.

For a free program, it's great Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
For a free logging program, this truly is great. Lots of features, all kind of database manipulation, customized screen design, radio control, rotator control, etc, etc. Heck, it'll even control your Alpha amp. The reason I can't give it a "5" are two reasons. First is it's database import capabilities. When I imported from another logging program, my meticulously researched DXCC and Zone data came up different in Logger32 than in my old program. And the probem is finding where the discrepencies are so I could fix them! The second problem is the default font size. A font pitch of 8 is just two small on my 1280x1024 resolution on my 17" monitor for my almost-middle-aged eyes.

So, if you're not importing any old logs into it, and your eyesight is better (or screen real-estate needs smaller) than mine, it's a 5. If not, it's a 3. Add them up, divide by 2, and you get a rating of 4.

Probably the best general logger Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I am consistently impressed with this program. I moved from YPLog to Logger32. There were some problems after importing my logs. The WPX fields were not automatically populated and some DXCC discrepancies occurred, mainly with the old USSR Republic's prefixes. I spent some time fixing these problems, then even more time configuring the fields to my requirements. All this time was well spent, because I now have an extremely powerful general purpose logging program, which is far superior to all the others I've tried. The attention to minor detail (e.g. Internet Time Sync) is outstanding. The award tracking capabilities, with excel-generated reports, are superb. The digital modes window is fine for my limited use. I haven't used the CW facilities, preferring Winkey with my own program instead. So, my only wish for enhancement would be for Winkey support (please, please Bob - I only always use my complete callsign too!)

Excellent Freeware Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been using Logger since 2000 and upgraded to the Beta-release of Logger32 12 months ago. In the meantime I tried many other logging programs (some with a very heavy price tag) and did not find anything better or worth its price.
Logger 32 is very modular, stable, easy to adapt to your own wishes as long as you take the trouble of reading the manual :-)
The beaut is it now is a joint effort of quite a few amateurs. The recent additions (QSL- and Log printing) make it ideal for my situation.
So I will no longer be downloading trial versions of other programs...... Logger32 got it all.

I don't need more Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I was a 16 bits Logger user long time ago, and I try the Logger32 when it was avalaible. I only need two days to customize like I want. I use it for log my HF, mostly contests, QSOs. At the moment more that 80.000 QSOs. And the logs performs very fine, quickly searching and very informative, specialy if you run on a medium o big resolution monitor.

I conect the log to the FT1000MP, and the cluster via telnet and VHF and it work fine.
Also use frequently the RTTY with the sound card with any problems.

If you are beginner, maybe you will need spend some time testing the program, but sure you will get a nice log program for your needs.

Don't forget that this is a beta version and it have some little problems: the worse for me, some mistakes in the country file. Sure that the final result will be a grear program.

Very good, but still Beta Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have been using this software for about 2 months and I am really impressed with it. I picked it based on the popularity of the Logger
program (previous 16 bit version). I looked at one or two others first. It has PSK and RTTY modules. I've been using it as a logging program only. It is a little difficult to start. There are many, many features and one has to set them to your preferred defaults. This is a two-edged sword, in that the many features makes it very general for a broad audience, but requires more learning time. The previous review mentioned all the defaults. It's true they are all turned on, and I suppose it is one way of showing the features to users. There are some things I would do differently, like a more conventional scroll bar, but all things considered it's a great program, especially considering the price. For a Beta version, it's very stable. The only "bugs" I have noticed relate to showing confirmed contacts in the awards window. Sometimes they show confirmed when they are not, or vice versa. I believe anyone wanting a logging program can be 95% happy with this program.
Some features I find especially useful are the serial port connection to my transceiver (Yaesu FT-1000 Mark V) and automatic call sign look on QRZ.
It makes hamming so much easier and more interesting. I think this program will be a 5 when it comes out of Beta.

Very good log program Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've tried a number of free logging programs, and Logger32 beats them all, IMO. The new 32-bit version is a great improvement over the original.

There are 2 reasons I didn't give it 5/5. First, the documentation is a bit lacking, but the program is still in "beta", so maybe the docs will improve. Second, the program initially starts up with what I consider to be pretty bad default settings. For example, the main logging window has about 30 possible fields, and they are all "on" by default. Worse yet, they are put in the window in alphabetical order. I think it's pretty safe to say that *no one* will want the fields in alphabetical order. I'd think they could at least take a stab at better initial settings, like the QSO date/time on the left of the window, and not "address" and "age". Who logs age anyway? These default settings resulted in it taking me quite a while to get all of the windows and fields positioned and sized how I wanted, but that's all one-time work.

All-in-all it's a really good, free logging program. I'd recommend it if you don't mind spending a little time setting it up.
