    The Best Self Paced Ham Exam course out there Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
    I decided that this year I would upgrade to Extra after 30+ years as a General...but I hadn't studied at all since passing the General Class in Feb 1992.

    With a full time job, I didn't want to obligate myself to one of the remote study sessions that required 2-3 hours one night per week, and I don't study best that way. I needed something I could do at my pace - meaning if it was "clicking" I could study for 30-45 minutes. If not, I'd just review to maintain my progress, and try again the next night. After researching, I chose HamTestOnline based on reviews from other hams.

    I was not disappointed. Their system worked perfectly for me. I started study on 1/9/22 - I studied every night, and never studied for more than 40 minutes, many nights 10-15 minutes. I also followed their recommendation to NOT take a practice exam until covering the course.

    On 4/20/22 the system notified me that I was ready to take the Extra exam. That night I took my first practice exam, and passed. On 4/21/22 I found a remote exam session and registered to take the exam on 4/27/22. Every night from 4/22 through 4/27, I studied review questions, and took a practice exam. Passed every one.

    On 4/27/22 I took and passed the Extra Class exam 40/50. Not perfect, but still passing!

    If you prefer to study at your own pace, can commit to studying every night, and do the review questions every night before covering new material, this course is for you.

    unquestionably best way Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.

    I studied 2 hours a day for 5 days over two weeks then did practice testing for 5 days. Took the General exam, finished in 10 minutes and missed one question out of 35. Slam dunk. General in 10 minutes. Wish I had used HamTestOnline for my Tech. I will be using HamTestOnline for the next one.
    OK, EXACTELY WHAT I DID. I GOT THE EXTRACLASS COURSE. STUDIED IT DAILY FOR 5 WEEKS. PASSED MY TEDT IN 30 MINUTES WITH A 96% SCORE.
    I DID USE OTHER ONLINE PRACTICE TESTS SO I GOT A VARIETY OF QUESTION WORDINGS, WHICH WAS A BIG HELP AS THE QUESTIONS WERE NOT WORDED EXACTLY LIKE HAM TEST ONLINE WORDING.
    SO HAPPY TO HAVE BEEN GRANTED MY EXTRA CLASS LICENSE TODAY.

    Not just memorizing answers Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
    Hamtestonline is the best program available. Its not just memorizing answers, I actually learned. I used another program for the tech and general and I found myself memorizing the position of the answers as they didn’t change. Hamtestonline changes the positions of the answers. Wish I had found this program sooner.

    My initial exposure to HamTestOnline was when I used it to study for Technician. I passed my General a little over 6 months ago, with the help of HamTestOnline. My studying for General was interrupted a bit, and I had to renew, but they had some sweet deals for renewing. After passing the General I was committed to studying for the Extra.

    Their web site does a fantastic job of tracking your progress and drilling you on the topics and questions you have trouble with. I was exposed to a lot of information and the links they provide (to Wikipedia and elsewhere) are very helpful. After all was said and done - and with the luck of the test draw - I got 96% on the Extra exam. Thanks, HamTestOnline!!!

    I studied the ARRL Extra Class license manual. I felt I still needed a better understanding of the material. HamTest worked for me. I cannot say whether HamTest alone would have been sufficient to help me pass the exam, but, I can say I was far better prepared after using it. The reminders to study and the repetitive questioning of problems I had trouble with seemed to be the key for my personal success. I passed my Extra Class exam on the first attempt. I recommend HamTest Online. Money well spent.

    Highly recommend!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
    I've been fooling around about taking my Extra exam for about six months. Visited a few websites, downloaded a "syllabus", studied intermittently... I was already a VE as a General, and the manager for my group kept encouraging me to get my Extra so I could be of more use during the testing sessions. Finally ran across HamTestOnline last week. Was prepared to buy the course, then I saw that they offered the course AT NO CHARGE for current General VEs who wanted to upgrade. Well, that was a no-brainer! Started on this past Sunday, and spent a total of less than 23 hours over the course of five days studying the content in "study" mode. I did take a practice exam on Sunday, scoring a miserable 32%. Our monthly testing night was on Thursday. So, I spent pretty much every spare moment I had on the course of study. By Thursday afternoon, I had completed about 80% of the course. Thought I'd try another practice test. Scored 80%. With only a couple of hours until the testing session, I put in another hour of study and took another practice test... 82%. So, on to the testing session... After helping all those who were there testing for their Tech, I sat down with my own Extra exam. A majority of the questions (and answers) came back pretty easily. A few sorta rang a bell. And fewer still, I just didn't know. Was sweating bullets while my fellow VEs scored my test, good golly they kept using that red pen! Thank goodness the minimum passing score is 74%, because that is exactly what I got! Passed! Yay! I highly recommend HTO! Great format! Keeps repeating questions if you are struggling. There were helpful hints galore. Overall, fantastic for me. I will be recommending HTO to fellow hams interested in upgrading!

    Passed General 4/2/22 Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
    Used HamTestOnline for the second time last month. Had used it in 2017 to study for my Technician license and got all the answers right on that test. Studied for about a month for the General at a rate of a little more than an hour a day. After finishing the study portion, I took practice tests to kill time before my test date and ended up missing only one item on that test. Now using it to study for the Extra test, and am discovering that with all the emphasis on antennas, it will take longer to feel confident of passing the first time. At age 76, it takes longer for the information to "stick" even when I understand the concepts involved. As I told the VE at the conclusion of the General test, my $30 investment in HamTestOnline was one of the best ones I've made in years.

    Great program, Very effective Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
    This is a wonderful program. It lets you control how you study the material. I had been a general for 20 years and bought numerous extra class study books over the years, became bored and quit. By using ham test online and doing an honest daily 8 hour study time I passed the Extra class exam in 5 days ! I learned a lot and it was not BORING. best money I spent
