Great Value Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Picked up the mini 100pe last week. I was really not expecting much for $30, was I surprised.

One reason I bought this radio was size, it is definatly small makeing it a good choice for cycling, camping, or just throwing in the car when your on the go.

As I said I didnt expect much and was I surprised. First the audio was really quit good for a radio this size. Not near as tinny sounding as most little radios. AM I thought was quit good and was sensitive for this little radio. FM was OK on strong stations. SW really blew me away this thing pulled in stations on an attched (ant-60 wash line)antenna on all bands.

In conclusion, the only negative I would have is tuneing stations on the little thumb wheel. I found this to be an exercise in dexteriosensitivity (neologism):)So if you want a very small radio that works very well given the price and size get one you will like it.In fact I would say its an exceptional value as you may by some that are larger and cost more hat really are not any better.

I like it too Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
For what it is, it works very well.

It has very good FM sensitivity and the stereo sounds really good through good headphones.

The AM broadcast sensitivity is not that great (at least on mine) and I can get only strong local stations.

The shortwave sensitivity is very good.

The nicest feature is that the batteries last a very long time. My Sony 7600G used to drain batteries very quickly. The Mini is very frugal.

I broke the antenna and a replacement cost a reasonable $4 and was received 2 days after I called the 800 number in the manual. Very nice service.

I don't know why the AM Broadcast sensitivity is low, but otherwise it is a fun little radio and I use it a lot.

Surprising Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Obviously this radio is not going to be the same as a full-sized, expensive rig. (Given this forum, some people will pan the thing because it is not as good as an Icom R8500 or does not cover their personal favorite band)

For a small, pocket-sized radio, I would be interested if anyone that is familiar with it can come up with a better available performer. Of course there are few features, but for pure sensitivity and selectivity, it is difficult to beat unless you are going to a tabletop rig. I ALWAYS take this thing with me when I travel. It gets abused and holds up very well, mechanically.

If you have 30 bucks (yes, it is inexpensive!) eating a hole in your pocket, and you don't buy this, what's wrong with you?
