Noise reduction works very well. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've had the adsp2 noise reduction / speaker for a couple of months now and it works very well.
Paid $109 for it new. Not much room inside to add an external speaker/earphone jack but I did get one successfully installed.
The noise reduction algorithm does a great job and unlike the clear speech unit this one has two selectable levels of audio dsp noise reduction.
Only problem I encountered was a couple of times the LED indicators (visible thru the metal speaker grill) got out of synch with the dsp filtering circuit. Removing the 12v power and 'rebooting' the unit resolved the problem. I'm guessing it was switch bounce on the momentary contact switch used to change levels that caused the problem.
Overall, good value, it works and is well constructed.

Remarkable improvement in audio signal to noise ratio. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I installed in car, driven by Icom MKIIG transceiver. Dramatically reduces the irritating noise common to HF operation (especially in car). Reduces this noise much more than the DSP built into the rig. Nice small size. If the desired voice signal is on the edge of intelligibility, this unit can sometimes make it understandable. If the signal is too bad, all you'll hear is some DSP artifacts. Tone removal is comparable to the Icom's built-in DSP. You can also turn the DSP off, so it becomes just a speaker. This unit is designed to compete with the Clear Speech speaker, but I can't give a comparison, as I have not tried that one. The price is right - the whole thing costs less than just the optional DSP board for the SGC transceiver!

very good but... Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just set up my adsp2 speaker and am generally very pleased. If there were a 4.5 I would rate it at that. Pros: very effective noise reduction, not too much dsp distortion on 13db level,A little more on the 26db setting but still not too bad. It works well on am broadcast as well.Negatives:Slow reaction time takes 3 seconds or so to react to tones or come back on after transmit much like the clearspeech unit. Also the unit seems to have a narrow passband limiting the fidelity of my receiver. Lastly the unit lacks a jack for use with an external speaker. Despite the negatives this device removes more noise than anything else I have tried and the price is reasonable .
