6 Years Later... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
My original review was from 2007. The amp still works great. I added a large CPU fan to the top of the heat sink to keep it cool. I continue to get great audio and signal reports on 6M, working all the VHF contests.. This little amp is a keeper. I do want to add more power on 6M, looking at the Tokyo HP 550dx. The first 100 watts is most important, anything after is gravy....

Rugged well-designed 6 meter solid state amplifier Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Purchased the HL-206V in 2004 for use on DXpeditions where there was no 220V for tube amplifier. Tokyo hy-power delivered it to my XYL who was on trip to Tokyo with no problem. Took amp to Haiti for HH4/W3CMP DXpedition in 2006. Amplifier is very rugged and works well. Has input pad to allow use with 10, 20 or 50 watts of drive. Output power at rated inputs is just over 200 watts; more than TE systems or Mirage. Output power chart is located at http://www.thp.co.jp/amateur/206vc.htm Preamp works very well; not too much gain and greatly improved signal to noise ratio of FT-897. Works well with Astron switching power supply. Nobuki (contact at Tokyo Hy-power) was very helpful. Wish Tokyo HO would market more stuff here.
