I own two Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Great Antenna. I bought one for my Icom 91AD. Although it does not fit flush it is not problem for me since this HT is strictly for indoors use. With it I now can hit the two area DStar repeaters. Something I could never do before. I was going to sell this HT because I could not reach any DStar repeaters but now it is my main downstairs radioin my home and I can reach all the repeaters that I am interested in, TV, radio and weather channels plus all the NYC and local frequencies that are not trunked.

The second one is on my handheld Bearcat scanner and I it sometimes appears that it picks up more stations than my base scanner with its dedicated and much large antenna.

Like others here, I found that there is a BIG difference between this antenna and the stock rubber ducky. It is even an improvement over other brands of HT replacement antennas. I have three HTs and about 7 HT antennas so I was able to compare and can say that if you buy this antenna you will not be sorry.

Worth the money! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
During my first SKYWARN storm last month using the stock rubber ducky, nobody could hear me and I couldn't hit the repeater.
I decided to by a Diamond SRH77CA.
During a recent thunderstorm with a lot of static in the air, the SKYWARN coordinator could hear some mobiles, but my HT was the only radio he could hear clearly. All others he told to find another antenna or boost their wattage.

Great product.

Bad connection to IC 91AD Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
So far so good - but the SMA version is not threaded long enough to make a good seat with the ICOM IC91-AD. Looks like I will have to add about 1/8" - 1/4" rubber washer to protect the connection.

top notch Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have 2 RH77CA's i use one for Fire and Rescue in the 154MHZ area and one for the 2M ham band, and 1 SHR77CA i use on the 2/440 ham band, on the fire and rescue side it has filled in most of the "dead spots" when other units can't get out i just hand them my HT and say try this it works every time, on the ham side it has extended the rang of my ht to the point where i now have a shr77ca or a rh77ca on every ht i own.

Good Duckie Replacement Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought the SRH77CA to replace a lost SMA-24. The dealer was out of the Comet SMA-24 but had the Diamond. So far it seems to work just like the SMA-24 but is of stronger construction. The radio is a Kenwood TH-G71A.

Awesome Duck! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I just got mine for my T81A/E. With the stock quad band ducky, it would hit, but not talk to the nearest repeater from inside my house up in the mountains that is about 9 miles away. It would also get very scratchy audio at about 1~2 S-units receive from that repeater from outside the house. Not only that but on simplex, I couldn't even hit another ham about 5 miles away even on high power because he was a tad hidden LOS from my 20.

Installed the SRH77Ca per a suggestion from HRO and was not only able to hit and key both the repeater and the simplex ham, but was hitting the simplex ham with 8 S-units! I also was receiving and hitting the repeater full quieting, even on low power, and able to hit a repeater about 30 miles away on high power I could not even hit from outside my house! Man, like sliced bread to the T81A/e!

I will report further when I have a chance this weekend to go to the Crest and try it out. Ill bet I will be able to hit the Mt Taylor repeater from the Sandia Crest which is over 75 miles.

Great reach Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
OK, I've only owned this antenna less than 24 hours, but the ability to transmit and receive with it on my 91A/D is phenominal.
First test from my backyard to palomar repeater - 40 miles away as the crow flies - excellent. My standard ducky can do that if I stand in the right place and get some elevation, but the next test to Santiago - 65 miles away with the camp pendleton mountain range in the way - scratchy, but fully readable on 5 watts. WOW is all I can say. Now I can listen and talk to Palomar sitting on the couch inside the house - stock ducky couldnt even recieve a signal there...

For distant repeaters Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I needed a higher gain antenna for hitting repeaters several cities away which wasn't reachable with the duckies that came with my th-f6 and vx-7r.

I got spoiled usng vhf/uhf yagi.
I could hit repeaters 70 miles away with a ht using a yagi, but my duckies were very disappointing. I got both the comet sma24 and diamond srh77ca to see if I couls at least hit the 30 to 40 mile away repeaters.
I live 350 feet above sea level and above many of the suround towns so I was hopeful.
It worked both antennas were able to hit the distant reps.

i still keep my duckies but i prefer my new antnnas for distant repeaters. rececption is about the same but gain is great on tx.

definate purchase for anyone wanting to significantly exted the range of their HTs.

WAY Better Than An OEM Duck! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Bought one of these to replace the OEM antenna on my Kenwood TH-D7, and it's worth every penny I paid. Sure it's longer and heavier than a stock antenna, and sure, it can make a very small radio want to tip over, but until they change the laws of Physics, folks, that's what you'll have to put up with to get increased performance.

Vast improvement over stock rubber duck. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I am pleased with this purchase. I used this antenna to upgrade the stock rubber duck on my Yaesu FT-60R HT. With the stock antenna I couldn't get any weather channels, and I was getting complaints when using the main local repeater that my readability and signal wasn't cutting it. With the diamond antenna I get 3 weather stations and I am full quieting on the repeater I wanted to use. Also, I am pulling in signals from repeaters 10+ miles away (albeit some weakly) that I thought were way too far with my current setup. I am operating from the ground floor of a condo in very flat Florida. This antenna affords me the opportunity to more fully participate in the local nets. Would buy it again. 73 KI4LNG
