This amplifier was just introduced by TE Systems. After being being disappointed with a couple of Mirage amplifiers, I wanted to try something of better quality.

The finish of this amp is first-rate, better than others I have seen. The back of the amp contains two bolted posts for attaching power cables. This is a nice feature, as you can pick the wire gauge that you need (no more soldering your large power cables to those little cables coming out of the back of your amp.)

Since this amplifier uses the same housing/heat sink as the more powerful 375W versions offered by TE Systems, it runs extra cool.

For mobile use, 250-300W is the uppermost power range for high gain colinear mobile antennas. Some 5/8 wave mobile antennas may handle more power, but they cannot produce the same gain numbers. Because of these antenna limitations, this amplifier happens to fit the bill perfectly for anyone who is a serious about their long-range mobile communications.
