Excellent Radio Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've been using mine now for 3 years. Receiver sensitivity is excellent and intermod rejection is good too. Don't know what the previous reviewer got his info, but the VX300 is computer programable. In
fact the same cable that's used to program the VX1R works on this radio too.

Pretty good Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Purchased new and used for some 3 years ocasionally. So far so good, except the modulation was not deep enough from the very beginning. It was fixed just by disassembling and moving interconnectors...

The "native" antenna is not the best. The HT worked substantially better with antennas of other brands, just a bit longer.

Well, just wanted to add another review on this reliable HT.

Excellent HT Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Excellent HT for a beginning amateur. Easily programmed via keypad, ruggedly built, and great performance. Easily contacted a base station over 5 miles with clear and crisp audio.

Radio meets NTIA wideband and narrowband standards for Civil Air Patrol Operations.

Drawbacks: not programmable via computer. Not a big deal, as programming is simple via the keypad.
