I was speechless - outstanding performance Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was sceptical at first. I live in an apartment, in the city of Melbourne, Australia - surrounded by concrete & buildings. I've NEVER been able to work any sort of HF from my QTH. A friend from my Amateur Radio Club loaned me the 40m End Fed version of the Par Electronics antenna. I strung some of the antenna around a large plant I have on my balcony (I'm on the 15th floor) like it was tinsel on a Christmas Tree and the rest along my balcony railing. Fired up the radio and did a SWR check - at first it was a little high however I found that part of the antenna was brushing against a metal chair so moved it and SWR went to practically 1:1 - no tuner - no fuss. Tuned around the 20 band and it was amazing. Within 1 minute I was having a QSO with a guy in British Columbia, Canada. I was even more shocked later when I realised that I'd forgotten to turn the output power up on my Icom 706MKIIG from 10 watts from when I was doing my SWR checks. My signal report was 5/7 from Canada. I don't have a ground as I'm so high up - but you don't need one with this antenna & no counterpoise. OUTSTANDING performance & extremely well - made. I've now ordered my own. Very courteous service too however their equipment is so well-made that they now supply NASA etc..so they are very busy and you may have to wait a while (a few weeks) for your antenna to arrive. You HAVE to give one of these little wonders a try. I contacted Par Electronics and said I wish they made more multi-band models - they said they would love to - and have a few they've tested in the past but are snowed under with work. However they are looking to release more multiband models over the next few months.

Made it possible for me to have a vertical on 20m Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Bought an EF-20. Love it. High marks for stealth due to black coated wire and reasonably small gauge. I was looking for soemthing as an alternate to my dipole that runs along the ridge vent of the house. It was directional and not at optimal height for DX so long distance often disappointing. The EF-20 changed that. Running vertical 3 ft from the ground up to about the tip of my roof, the end was no higher than the dipole but big DX difference. Regularly 2 S units better. This is likely to being vertical and a LTO angle but thats the whole point. The smaller length and design of this product made a practical vertical at my QTH.

Outstanding performance and value Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have the 20m and 40m versions, and they are fantastic. Par Electronics offers exceptional value and performance with this product. E-mails are answered promptly by Dale. I will be re-ordering for a second location when the window opens again July 15th.

I should add my wife loves these antennas because they are almost impossible to see.

Best Dipole Ever Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Two days ago I bought the ft-817 worrying that I wouldn't be able to talk to people. I threw up the 20m model 8ft up, between two trees and was talking to people right away. In fact my second contact was to a man in Moldova on 5w ssb. He gave me a 57. This is by far the best dipole I have owned.

Outstanding performance Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Ordered the 20 and 40m versions for /P work. Did an A/B comparison with my carolina windom which I thought as a very good performer (except vs my beam antenna). I was surprised by the results. Despite the temporary setup (on a fishing pole) the signal report for the PAR was better - inaudible vs copyable. On receive I had slightly stronger signal with the PAR.

Great Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I wrote a review of Dale's antenna I use for SWL. When it arrived late last year, I did not have the time to get it set up correctly, rather I put it up about 15 feet and did not have it grounded.

I said before WOW, even when it was not set up correctly it heard like no other.

Well as spring moves on I did get the antenna set up correctly, a sloper about 20ish feet up and once again WOW. The signal is brighter, if that is possible, and the performance is still super.

Do not hesitate to purchase one of Dale's antennas it is a great product

Outstanding Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
In Aug 2009 I bought the EF-20 and EF-40 from Dale, order to delivery (including a lead time for manufacture) was about 3 weeks here to the UK with emails from Dale during that time advising of the expected delivery date. You couldn't find a nicer gentleman to deal with, not to mention I'm very jealous of that 5m EME dish of his!

The antennas are fantastic. I operate almost exclusively /P and since last summer have used the end-fedz with an FT-817, several Kenwood radios and now a DX-70. My radios have come and gone; I've used all sorts of antennas from eggbeaters to moxons to doublets as well but the end-fedz have stayed. Why?
Flexibility, performance and sheer ease of use. I like to experiment and I've used them on mountain tops as a inv-V supported by a 12m spiderbeam pole, as a sloping dipole, as a vertical supported by various trees and poles, covertly draped over hedges, draped over the top of a 30m high tree (bottle rockets are amazing things) as well as my personal favourite; a kite-lifted vertical. If you want a simple antenna that really can perform miracles give it a go. I used 20m of coax, gaffer taped masses of bubble-wrap around the matching box so it wouldn't be damaged (or damage me) if the wind suddenly died, and tied the end insulator half way up the kite line of a double French military kite that was going cheap on eBay. I know DX-lists aren't an objective indicator of antenna efficiency so I hate to do this but on the first evening with this config I used the EF-20 and with 5W CW had QSOs with Arizona, Vancouver Island, Colombia and somewhere called Selo Tegul'det in Russia. That's purely low angle radiation making up for a not very great SSN=15. It's just a shame the wind doesn't allow /KP to be as reliable as a pole-held antenna.

Are there any problems? Yep, as yet Dale doesn't seem to make an 80m version. I can only daydream about how that half wave end-fed dipole would perform /KP!

In short I've got no hesitation in recommending these antennas to anyone. They're solidly built, good quality and work brilliantly.

Outstanding & HOA Friendly Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I live in a Legalized Communist Community it's called Home Owners Association, here in Florida. I Have been using Dipoles in my attic as to comply with HOA regulations. I purchased a 40m end fed from Dale, at the top of the roof in the back yard I installed a pulley attached a nylon cord attached the coax to the antenna and hoisted it up, now the cable and cord were up against the house (not to noticeable). About 75 feet away was a tree, I used brown nylon cord attached the wire end of the antenna hoisted it up. First you can't notice the wire unless you look hard or saw me put it up and second this opened up a whole new world, the signal strength / fa-nominal, the radio sang out like never before. Needless to say I am ordering a 20m end fed antenna from Dale and I have to thank all of you that wrote reviews on this antenna. Ed KJ4FGI

Excellent Performance! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have the EF-20 and today I tried it indoors with my FT-817.

I was downstairs, with the antenna going upstairs into the bedroom .

So, 5w SSB into this antenna snaking its way upstairs and I made contacts into Italy, Canada, Bulgaria, Russia and Bosnia and Hercegovina!

Awesome!!

I'm thinking of getting the multi-band version now!
