| Nice quality antenna |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
Bought one online from LNR. Delivered in about five days. Excellent build quality. Strong. Tuned up and running in an hour. Will last a long time as long as I keep the power down to about 40 watts using digital modes. I've heard, but can't say for sure that far end is pretty high voltage, so keep it away from metal things like siding and gutters. Will be buying the 17 meter version in the fall.

Buy one of these things. It's absurdly simple to hang, solidly built with no-tangle wire and a snap to trim for low SWR. I have my 20M version running from the house to the garage at only about 10' high and am enjoying really good results from my old TS-440S without a tuner. I'm using grey RG8X that I've been able to stuff completely into my vinyl siding. It's almost impossible to see, so no grief from the XYL and no dirty looks from the next door neighbors.
So for under $50 I have a no-brainer antenna that you can't really see, that took all of 3/4 of an hour to hang and tune at a 'low-ladder climbing height' that stays below 2.5: at band edges (like 1.2:1 in the middle where I tuned it)and has gotten me up into Newfoundland, down into the Carribean and over to Oregon on PSK31 within the first hour after I put it up.
Too cool.

| 11 / 10 / 6 / SWL antennas |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
The porch of my master suite is now my newest Ham Shack. It is located at second floor of the house, 22 feet high from ground level and 60 feet far from the backyard´s rear fence, so giving me some room to play with wire antennas. As a Class C 100 watts ham, I most operate in 10 meter band and up, with the Yaseu FT450D 160/6m/Yaesu Mic MD-100/Bencher low pass filter/LDG 450 external tuner. I also have the Hannover BR 9000 11/10m (it is the brazilian version for the european Anytone AT-5555 or the Maas DX5000).
I have lots of fun and enjoy very much to deploy and play with LNR antennas connected to my HF rigs. Dale even made me a special 11 meter version. I did not cut neither wrap any wire at all. They just work fine up there hanging in my backyard, and my tuner , if needs, easily handles swr levels in the frequencies.
The SWL antenna gave so much life to my Grundig Satelit 750, the most "good looking" radio in my shack, according to my XYL´s opinion. I posted a dedicated review for this antenna also.
LNR antennas are celestial piece of wires !

| There's really nothing I can add to all these positive reviews except to say you can add me to the satisfied customer list. I recently bought the EF-40 to use with the 3-watt NorCal 40A I just built. The high point is at about 25' and the ends at about 15'. This antenna is outstanding. Signals are 1-2 S-units higher than on the other wire antenna I have. I couldn't be happier. |

I went on vacation, and using the 17 Meter End Fed antenna. I am floored, I know this is just a dipole, is just a dipole, however, this antenna, works so well...I am using this antenna, over a porch, that is 25 ft above the ground and the end of the antenna is a few inches above the ground..Bascially vertically polarization, This works very well..I am a Ham operator for over 30 years, and have all types of antennas, and designed quite a few as well...I just can't explain in theory, nor logic why this antenna works so well. I have a BSEE, First class FCC license, and did many antenna paterns in my life time..I can't explain this one..All I can say, the price, buy one and see for yourself. Summary unbelievable performance,

I purchased the 20 meter 100 watt version. I compared this end fed antenna against my 3 element mono band yagi 20 meter antenna. Of course The Yagi MONO Bander did 2 s units better but considering the thousands of dollars in the yagi system this isn't to bad! This End fed 20 meter mono band antenna is truly the best wire antenna out there the conventional dipole has the disadvantage of the mechanics of support. The VSWR was flat. Bottom line. Great antenna and easy to install |

| Excellent antenna |

Shortly after moving from Melbourne in 2010, Australia, to a regional city some 150km away, a ham friend purchased an EF-40 for me, so we could keep in touch on 40m. As my situation wasn't ideal for a dipole, the end fed antenna was perfect. The antenna arrived, and I noticed that it was very lightweight and well built. I strung it up in the back yard, taking advantage of some convenient trees for support and fired up on 40m. Although the EF-40 is not far off the ground, signals were good, with a noise floor of S1-2 during the day, which is much lower than the wire and Icom AH-4 antenna (which was installed later) that I use on other bands.
The EF-40 is easy to ignore, as it's not easily visible, and I did forget to use it until recently, when I needed to do some Winlink testing on 40m. The other antenna has issues with RF inside on 40, 30 and 20m, which causes havoc with the surrpund sound amp. I gave the EF-40 a try, and no RFI at all was observed. I then fired up RMS Express and connected to the CMS 200 km away using WINMOR, and got a perfect connect with a very low noise floor. Further testing gave consistent results.
After the successful Winlink tests, I plan on buying an EF-80 and another EF-40, or an EF-40/20 for portable use for emergency comms and public service events. The light weight and excellent performance make these antennas hard to beat for portable work. |

| EF-80, A Seriously Good Antenna! |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
Installed this antenna @25 feet, between 2 trees for a club field day weekend. Many contacts worked in VK and as far away as New Zealand (ZL) good signal reports allround.
Antenna required minimal tuning on installation and was shortened by 2" which gave a nice 80kHz spread of band coverage under 1.8:1 3.560 to 3.640MHz.
Quality built product that works!

| Great Performance From a Stealthy Antenna |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
| I purchased the EF20 from another ham to use in portable mode with my IC-703. Strung it up off my back deck - feed end up 6 feet and distant end up about 24 feet. Using the EF20 with my 10 watt QRP rig, I have made SSB contacts into Luxembourg, Spain, Slovenia, Germany, England, Portugal, Madeiras Island, several Bahamas Islands and numerous South American countries. I also have made contacts all over the U.S. and have had numerous hams comment that my signal was so strong that they could not believe I was running QRP. Couldn't be happier! The antenna is stealthy and so easy to use. Wish I had the multi-band model as these LNR antennas are super products! |

This past week I had the opportunity to call LNR Precision about a EF-20 in preparation for Field Day. I spoke to Larry one of the owners, and he is carrying on the outstanding customer service that Dale started. Larry was a joy to deal with and I had my replacement part in hand 2 days later.
if you are needing a versatile wire antenna for stealthy, portable applications, please give larry and the LNR team a serious look.
Glad to see old fashioned customer service alive today!! |

I operated as ZF2TE for a week on Grand Cayman with the LNR half waves- only 60 watts output, but generally got 5-9 signal reports from Europe, Asia Africa and Natam.
I used the 2.2 pound DK9SQ Kanga pole to support the radiators ocean side and just taped the EndFedz to the pole. The Kanga pole telescopes from 46 inches to 33 feet. Handy for backpacking too.
If you have not used a 1/2 wave vertical next to the ocean, you should give it a try.
I have also used these antennas well inland with great effect.
Well built, easy to pack, awesome performance. |
