Simple and Small Tuner that works great. Used it on my Yaesu 817 and with 2 9 volt batteries to power the tuner and it tuned well under 6 seconds,
and always below 1.5... Hooked it to my Icom 718
and tuned all band quickly and with its memories
remembers when i go back to previous frequencys.
LDG has a winner here . purchaced at GIGA Parts
for $139.99. Will purchase another one to keep
for spare unit...73 KF6GOM

THEY FORGET THE SCREWS,,,MUST BE MADE BY MFJ Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I got the a new Z-100 tuner in today. While on the phone with them asking about the radio interface cables, I went to pick the tuner up and the top came off, they didn't even put the screws in the bottom to hold the top on.

I wonder if these are shipped to MFJ to build :). You would think they would have a little more quality control. Otherwise, the tuner seemed to work good.

Great tuner Time Owned: more than 12 months.
It's cheap, small, light, and works great. Runs circles around most rigs' internal tuners, in terms of its ability to match a diverse range of antenna impedances. Yes, it makes some noise while tuning, especially initially until it memorizes the settings, but once it does so it's very fast and reliable. A great product.

Nice portable tuner Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
One of my very first tuners. Tuned my G5RV just fine with my TS-50. Great for portable use, very small and light weight. I up graded to the 200Pro, I wanted something with an SWR meter in it, if I was to go portable I would buy the Z-100 hands down..

Very Nice Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This tuner is well worth the money. I use mine on my Icom 707 to tune my P1 portable antenna. I can tune 40 meters from 7:1 to less than 1.5:1 across the entire band. The tuner is very lightweight and perfect for my portable setup. Tunes very fast!

OK, but had problems Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Got it to use on a Yaesu FT-100D never would tune to same level, always different, Sent it back to LDG and they upgraded it to a newer chip still was not what I expected. Finally got a Yaesu FC-20 tuner and it worked wonderful. Sold the Z-100 last year at the local hamfest. I am getting a FT-817 in a week or so and need an tuner for it, Don't think I will use a LDG agn. Will probably try something different like a T-1 73 Patrick kx5f

not true Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
got mine new and after ONLY running 80 watts in it .. it had to go in the shop for repares.. now i just got it back last week with a note saying that this auto tunner is not ment to be use with ANY TUBE RIG.. what the heck aslong as you can keep it under 120 watts.. i might aswell sell this one and go with a mfj...

Spectacular Tuner Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I use it in conjunction with the LDG 4 to 1 balun, loading a 66 ft. zepp, fed with 300 ohm tv twin lead at the end. I get great reports on all bands, including 160 meters. The tuner is very fast and versatile.

Superbly Useful Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I ordered the z-100 Ultra from W4RT in Huntsville. This unit has had a battery installed inside the unit reportedly good for about 10,000 tunes. The unit came with a couple of cable assemblies for using some rigs to initiate the tuning...and a power cord.

Right out of the box I cabled the tuner to my TS-480 and after Id'ing, I gave the tuner a 7 watt carrier and pushed the tune button. Perfect.

It kind of reminds me of the ldg 897 tuner I have bolted to my 897. It's a really solid package and seems to have a really good search routine for lowering swr.

This little box can go in my car, camping, hf-packing, etc with no annoying need for a power source. The LDG/W4RT z-100 Ultra may become one of my all-time favorite purchases.
