Description:
Completely self-contained version of the original PicoKeyer, first introduced in 2003. The PicoKeyer features four memories, all connections and power on board (no external wiring needed), speed control, simple one-button menu based setup, beacon mode, and much more.
Keying modes supported are iambic A and B, Ultimatic, Bug and straight key/cootie. Hands-free tuneup mode lets you tune with either constant key-down or 50% duty cycle dits. Easy, quick assembly make this a great club or group build project!

Great kit Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
My first keyer was a Heathkit SA-5010 which I built in 1975. Took a day or two to build, with quite a few IC's...the PicoKeyer seems to do everything that the Heathkit did...took about 15 minutes to build (had to let the soldering station warm up).
Considering the cost, there isn't any reason to not purchase one of these keyers....great job!

Great little piece of kit! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Ordered one of these keyers and had it built w/in 30 min after it arrived. Worked flawlessly first go round and interfaced with my QRP rig with no issues. I like the size and functionality of this little keyer. If you need a keyer to interface with your QRP rig, I definately recommend this kit.

Fun to Build and Modify Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I built two of these 3 years ago. I built the first one in an Altoids tin. Then built the second in a metal bud enclosure. I used the first as a code oscillator. The second as a keyer but it lost out to my WinKey every time. I eventually installed the first in a bud enclosure. I also modified both with a 20 turn 10 K pot and a capacitor to use the ring of the rig jack for side tone output. I have used both in MCW mode to send code over the local FM repeater. Nothing gets Technicians interested in code more than a code QSO on the repeater.

Excellent Customer Service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Easy to give Dale a 5 out of 5. I have purchased three of these over the past three years. The last one I rendered useless attempting to put a speed pot on.

Dale took care of it for me - over the top customer service.

The keyers are great - highly recommended.

Great fun and functional Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Built it in about half hour. Worked immediately. While mounting in an altoids box it became intermitant. Discovered wire tips on the bottom were shorting to the box! Stuck a business card in the bottom of the box under the pc card and bingo, all is well! Makes changing speed and switching between straight key and paddle much simpler than using the rigs internal keyer.

Fun To Build, Fun To Use Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My PicoKeyer kit came in the mail at twelve noon and I was using it by one o'clock. Well written assembly instructions and well written user manual. Does a lot for a little price.

Buy one.

Outstanding kit especially for the cost! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This is the second of these kits that I have built. Only takes 10 -15 mins to complete. Both have worked immediately, the instruction set & facilities could not be beaten at this price - AND the PCB is now a work of art. Blue silkscreen/soldermask and goldflashed pads, amazing. Highly recommended.

Excellent little kit! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I am by no means a kit expert, but I really enjoyed assembling this little kit. The circuit board was really good quality with nice clean pads that the solder really liked to flow on. I took about 30 minutes to slowly build the kit. When I inserted the battery I got the CW 73. For the price this is a good little keyer. Tried it on my FT-817 and IC-718 and works fine. I plan on using it on a QRP rig of some sort. The included printed instruction manual was very good also.

You can't really go wrong with this kit.
