Comet GP-15: Could have done better.... Time Owned: unknown months.
I have the GP-15 mounted on a 3 foot tripod and the second story of my house. Worked fine for about 6 months, then started to have problems. Originally tuned for 6 meter FM. Wanted to retune for 50.0 to 50.150. Was unable to do so with supplied radial. Manufacturer told me it wouldn't work down there. Had to cobble a longer rod to work that part of the band. Works okay on 2 FM, but has problems in the electronics in the stick. Only allows 50 watts output on a 100 watt rig. (IC-746) Manufacturer suggested a number of fixes for the problem, none of which has worked. Planning on replacing this summer with products from M2. Not a good, reliable antenna. Plus tired of spending time on the roof rather than working 6 and 2.

Excellent verticle...I'd buy another! Time Owned: unknown months.
The GP-15 never ceases to amaze me. It performs very well on 2 meters. It performs very well on 6fm. But it absolutely blows me away with it's 440 performance. I can get HT's 20-30 miles away on reverse. Simplex wise...awesome. Granted, the antenna is up very high, I do live on a ridge. But it's quiet on 2/440. I get excellent reports back... and make regular contacts into repeaters 100+ miles away down to Atlanta from Chattanooga. I have it tuned to the fm portion of 6 meters. SWR wise it's flat across critical frequencies. The quality of finish/assembly is better that another Diamond dual banded I have (x-50) and it seems to have a little better weather protection around joints.
