GREAT Time Owned: more than 12 months.
For three yrs it has been on the top of my light bar on my 4wheel dr Pickup. It shows the lowest swr of any of my dual band antennas and performs great on cross band repeat. It has been beat up by many tree branches on city side streets and still survives. I also run an SBB-5,AX75 and a couple of mono band 1/4 wave mag mounts. Truck light bar will not clear garage door opening, a blessing in disguise.

fell apart Time Owned: more than 12 months.
An excellent performer radio wise the SBB-7 PL-259 connector version.
I've own it for about 2.5 years.
The failure is the press on PL-259 worked loose. just from wind speeds of 75 mph.
It has never hit any thing but maybe bugs.
This is too expensive of an antenna to have this happen. Guess I will go back to a Larson
Demand more for your money, tell Japan to quit making junk. And quit rating the antennas in Dbi , they pump up DB sales pich and give you less!
We want more for our money!

excellent Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
An excellent performer. I have the SBB-7, which is the pl259 connector version of the antenna, not the NMO version. This antenna mounted on the trunk of the car with the EM5M antenna mount works very well. It hears a lot more than previously mounted antennas. I also have the CSB 790A Comet in UHF PL259 mount as well. It also is an excellent performer mounted with the HD5M mount. I would recommend either antenna. Both antennas replace a Diamond SG7900 UHF mount dual band antenna, that was broken more than 3 times and problematic.

Great Time Owned: more than 12 months.
So far, this is the best antenna I have used mobile and base. On mag. mount and fixed. Only problem I had was when I forgot I had on roof and drove into a garage and broke it. My fault totally. Do make sure all screws are tight. At least 3 S units more receive than any antenna I have used. And it receives through all the frequencies from air to 800.

Super Gain, Great Antenna Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I bought the antenna from someone with missing allen screws...the company replaced them for free and advised to use lock-tight. I did. Holds together very well Now I use 5 watts instead of 50 and get twice the distance. Believe the gain values of this antenna. Rides well with a 5 inch mag mount. Blows away my previous 19 inch antenna.
Should have had one out of the gate. Brings in repeaters from great distances, holds them, and there is so much less noise and picket-fencing. In my opinion, un-mached mobile experience. Great customer service. Thank you Comet.

Poor Antenna Will Look Eleswhere Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have had this antenna for 8 month and I have had lots of SWR problems early on. I have bonded it multiple ways, cleaned the mounting, taken it apart and cleaned every connection in the whip and it still was high. Now after a winter in Michigan the SWR is over 3 and I have not been able to bring it back in line.

It never received well and I never had good signal reports with my IC-7000.

So I am done with this one and something else will be going on the Jeep.

I have great HF performance on my rig but this antenna never worked.

At least it was cheap and I did not loose a lot of money on it.

Great performance Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Great antenna. I've had mine approximately five or six years and have never had a problem. Antenna performs very well and is mounted on a magmount with three five inch magnets and even though I remove it every day to prevent it from being stolen, it's never affected it's performance.

Best I Tested Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have tested maxrad, Antron, Diamond, this antenna whips them all, best signal report from the sbb-7 NMO. Won't take a lot of abuse from trees, but who cares, I want the best performance, if I tear it up I would buy another SBB-7

Okay with some "but's". Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Got one about a year ago, tried it, wasn't all that impressed. Biggest draw-back was the height of the antenna and it's 'stiffness', just didn't work out well for the top of the truck (trees-n-stuff). So reverted back to what I had been using. Finally gave it away. I've noticed that the one I gave it to isn't using it either! :)

Not too good Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned 3 of these antennas over the past 4 years. Two of them failed in the first year that I owned them. I finally figured out how to disassemble this antenna and discovered that the coil had become unsoldered where it attaches to the section that unscrews and pivots above the bottom coil at the base. It appears that the solder job is very poor at this point. After resoldering the antenna works fine. Be careful when you are unscrewing the whip where it piviots 90 degrees as that is the weak point. If you twist too hard that solder connection WILL break!
