Toyota of the radio world Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Having played with 70cm's SSB for 6 months running barefoot (50W) from my TS2000 i decided to purchase the HL-130U as a stepping stone to higher power (When funds allow),

Tokyo have included an "auto power input selector"
which allows the user to operate the amplifier at full output (120W) for a given input 3-25 Watts
A useful device which removes the possibility of making a mistake by selecting the wrong input and damaging the P.A. there is a low power selector on the front which lowers the output to around 45 watts.
if lower power is required

A protection circuit is built in to the device which will operate saving the amplifier when one of the following happens,

1. Over-voltage (mine cuts in at 15V)
2. Open circuit on antenna
3. Complete Short circuit on antenna
In addition to this there is a Reverse polarity protection diode also ( quite a nice package for the ham who is a little forgetful or forever unlucky in life !)

I am at present considering disconnecting the R.F. vox
Sensing device as i use an SSB Electronics masthead preamplifier and Sequencer, which already takes care of the TX chain.

Tokyo have done a superb job in producing this P.A. and it is a dream to use,
they use a pair of rugged 2SC3102 as finals and reports on the air
are very good, the amp appears clean even at 95% of it's max output,
it's my second THP
device the first was a 2 meter 120 watt amplifier that I bought second hand it was over 10 years old and gave me no trouble whatsoever

Would i recommend it to a friend ?
Yes in a heart beat, i nearly made the mistake of buying a Mirage
but you guys on eham put me wise to the Quality issues so i opted for this one thanks!
THP are the Toyota of the radio world
Ultra reliable
