CQ-DL Looks good and professional from this end! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I am a ham author and columnist for QRZ.com. My column is called "Trials and Errors -- Ham Life with an Amateur." The column has been translated into German and will be published in this magazine, CQ-DL. Before allowing this to occur, I had a look at what I could find about the magazine and it appeared high quality and interesting reading to me. I'm very proud to be represented in their mag. You can find my column on the front page of QRZ in the largest box on that page.

Mediocre Club Magazine Time Owned: more than 12 months.
As a DARC member for more that 40 years and a regular author not only for cqDL I have enjoyed some issues and suffered through more issues than I liked.

The big problem is the editorial staff. I have not found out whether the club simply refuses to hire enough people that know their stuff or if it is the engagement of the staff.

As already pointed out, nobody in Baunatal really bothers to understand the articles. I know first hand: You send in your manuscript and get back a PDF file of your text in cqDL layout without hardly any modifications. Any questions? Never!

The tragic bottom line: cqDL is the only means of DARC to reach all of its members. Over the last 30 years DARC has lost about half of its membership. But I am sure that many copies end in the circular file very fast.

Good club magazine Time Owned: more than 12 months.
For a monthly magazine published by a relatively small group of staff and authors, the cqDL is really excellent. The article selection, monthly columns for topics like DX, QRP, packet radio and so on and also the layout are rather good.

However, the editorial department seems to ignore all but the gravest grammatical and stylistic mistakes in the articles, so that some offer a truly strange reading experience. Some articles are published many months after the events they discuss, and the article series for beginners is simply a joke.

As a bonus that comes with club membership, it's a really nice magazine and I wouldn't want to be without it. But it can't compare with dedicated, commercial ham magazines like the Funkamateur.

Intersesting presented Information Time Owned: more than 12 months.
All the Information is composed clearly in a way that makes very easy to find every detailed Information still after years. Its a pleasure to read a Periodical what is in form and content structured like this one.
