Decent Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I think you get what you pay for and this unit is exactly that. It is a full feature weather unit. I have had only two problems with mine. Mine quit working during a heavy rain. I found the cover over the sending unit was missing and it had gotten wet. I brought in the house and dried it out and it worked fine. LaCrosse would not sell me another cover so I now have a pastic cup over it. Only other problem was the rain gage working. I cleaned it out and it works fine now. My biggest compliant is the wind speed. I use mine wireless and since it only updates every two minutes you miss the gust speeds. I have an internet connection to a school with expensive equipment about 5 miles away and its measurements are close. My recomendation is if you are not that much in the weather and just think it would be neat to know the wind speed, rain fall and outdoor temp buy this unit. If you are a weather nut spend the big bucks and get yourself something better.

Would not buy again Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Installation wasn't too bad, except for the u-bolts that came with it. Both had defective threads on the end, as a result it took me hours of searching for new bolts, never did find any, so made do with the defective ones.
The operation is OK, don't like the wind measuring system, it takes much too long to update, as a result you don't get any wind gust measurements, only the average speed over 30 to 120 seconds. I used a very accurate hand held an found on one day we had winds gusting to 35, steady around 22 to 26. The station only showed 22.6 mph. This makes it realatively useless for me. The operation seems ok, wish it had a lamp that would stay on so you could read it a night.

Poor Waterproofing Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Have had my LaCrosse weather station in use for about 18 months here. Best features are barometric pressure, wind speed and humidity readings as they are relatively accurate. Out- door temperature readings are innaccurate. It is 3 degrees in error as compared to more accurate references here at my home. A couple of days ago the temperature and wind guages did not work. I found the problem in the thermo-hygro unit located under the eave of my home. Seems that water vapor in the form of fog had had collected causing internal corrosion which turned the copper traces of the circuit board and other components green. Did a thorough cleanup of board with a burnishing tool and light sandpaper. The corrosion had apparently shorted the traces to each other. After clean-up I resealed the board with nail polish. Found that the thermo-hygro unit is not moisture proof and should be. It would have cost cents to install rubber gaskets. Would not recommend this unit if you live in an area with more than occasional morning fog(dew)as it will find a way into your unit.

A poor product Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
The Lacrosses 2310 console menu system is fiddly to operate and the wind propellor is always being stopped by the lightest of spider webs.
The Heavy Weather software is most troublesome (on our two laptops).
I have also had ham HF interference trouble but after replacing all the phone cables with 2 pair shielded cable I cured it with the exception of 10 Metres (a LOW PASS filter at the transmitter output fixed this).
I also disconnected the two antennas inside the console and and fitted ferrites to both ends of all cables with no result.
Note at the console, pin 4 of the RJ12 is earth; however at the hyg/therm RJ socket, pin 1 is earth. Likewise the rain & wind RJ plugs.
Inside the wind unit the lowest wire which is yellow, is the earth.

works well, but software is lousy. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
No real problems with the station other than the display buttons don't work well and get stuck.

The software however is a joke. Seems to have been written by a 5 year old. The "Publisher" is full of quirks that make it unreliable to do any auto posting to web sites. The "beta" version of the weather software appears to be the final version too. I have not seen any upgrades over the last 18 months. If you buy this station, be prepared to spend additional money for decent third party software since LaCrosse obviously doesn’t want to provide it.

Other than the occasional erroneous wind speeds, Great. Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I have owned the WS2310 for several months. Other than the occasional erroneous wind speed readings (> 57 MPH), I have not had a problem with it.

Hopefully my sensors will not fail as others have experienced!

BTW- If you would like to upload your weather station data to the Weather Underground or the CWOP via the Internet, follow this link to the freeware application WUHU:

Worth it Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have only had my WS2310-TWC for a couple of months now, and have had 1 or 2 false high speed wind gust readings but other than that, it has been great. I live about 1 mile or so from a TV station that has a very expensive system and although I'm not close to their readings at times, I am always very close, a degree or 2, from the NWS. This has been a great system and now if I can only find a good inexpensive weather display software, that would even better. The Heavy Weather that comes with it just is not enough for me.

But so far..... Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I now have been using my 2310 for 4 months, the wind gauge has failed twice (and replaced), but so far it seems to be working, as far as it being accurate well it close, i use the wire setup connection so the update will be without any problems to the connections and accurancy to the base unite. i live close to the local philly airport that the readings are close. More reporting to follow.

Good but you get what you pay for. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
First of all I have had my station for about 8 months now. It has served me during three hurricanes this season!!! The PROS far out weigh the cons and the station is well worth what you pay for it.

PROS:
1- It is totaly wireless. I have the Wind and rain sensors mounted on my tower and the outside humidy/temp transmitor mounted under the eve of my house. There are no wires between my base unit and the sensors and I power the base unit with batteries so there's no chance of it getting zapped.

2- It works! The local TV station has a VERY EXPENSIVE weather station about 2 miles from my home and my station is always very close to the EXPENSIVE station.

3- It is small and takes up little space.

4- It comes with softare that you can install on your computer and look at all of the information...either current or archived.

5- The cable connections are simple phone cables so adding extra cable is no problem and it is cheap to do so if you desire.

6- Batteries are all "AA" and last about 12months.

7- Atomic Clock sets its self!!! Awesome

CONS:

1- When using the station in the wireless mode the station only updates every 124 seconds when the wind blows less than 22.5mph. If the wind blows faster than 22.5mph it updated every 32 seconds. If not used wirelessly it updates every 8 seconds.

2- If a sensor goes bad they arn't cheap but I guess that would be the case with any station.

3- In high RF enviroments you could experience false rain readings.

Total Crap Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had this unit just over 12 months and the wind sensor has failed twice and the unit just can not cope with harsh weather areas, I have been intouch with LaCrosse and yet again they just say send it back, cost more in postage. I have decided that it will be going into the bin with the rest of the rubbish. It is 50 mph out side at the moment and I would think the unit would fail again if it was in the air. Not a happy bunny.
