Not built to last Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have owned a LaCrosse WS-2310 station for 18 months now. During that time I have had the wind sensor fail 3 times and the rain sensor fail twice. Now both the rain sensor and the wind sensor need to be replaced yet again. It seems like neither of these sensors are really weather proof and eventually water or condensation will get into these sensors and cause the internal electronics to fail.

After spending as much money on replacement sensors as I did on the original unit I have had it and am going to try a different station rather than replacing the wind sensor and rain sensor yet again.

So to sum up I am giving the station a "2 - Needs help" as it works great until the sensors have been out in the weather a while - then they need help.

Nice system but pay attention when transmitting Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I agree with the most reviews on this page, my experience is when transmitting on 40m or 20m the system will indicate wrong information. (especially rain fall will increase heavily hi)

After using some ferrite clamps on the cables, problem seems to be gone, only when transmitting with QRO the weather station has some problems and need a full reset. Pitty about all the missing data in the PC!!!

Not bad Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Pretty good unit for the money -- and considering listed prices as low as $170ish, that's cheap. The biggest complaints is the inability to add extra sensors. In addition it appears that all La Crosse weather stations (under $400) limit their humidity readings to 20-95 percent. Nice if you live in Seattle, but here in AZ, humidity levels are typically under the range limit. Wireless performance was intermitten at best, although I've used other stations and experienced the same problems. In short, if you are interested in following the weather accurately, you'll end up using the supplied cables. Again, for the price I think its a good unit.

Low cost-Good Performance! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Like a lot of hams involved in Skywarn, I was
looking for a modest weather station that would
provide me with more information, real time, and
local to my location.

After looking at virtually every station out there,
it became obvious that nothing could offer the
features of the WS-2310 for under $400.

You get a built in PC interface and software. The
unit provides wind speed, wind direction, temperature (inside and out), humidity (inside
and out), barometer, dew point, rain fall, etc.

It can be confirgured to operate either wired
or wireless. Wireless operates at 433mhz, and
seems to have a usable range of at least
100 feet through walls. The disadvantage of
wireless is that the outside sensors only
update the display unit (and computer)
about once every two minutes.

If you go wired, the unit uses standard four
wire phone cord...and operates the display
every eight seconds. Much better for
recording wind gusts during storms, etc.

While the free and included software is fine,
I quickly purchased another package called
"Virtual Weather Station" due to it's having
superior graphing, internet updates, e-mail
warnings, etc. Very happy with that software too.

The main issue with accuracy with any weather
station is "siting". Do a Goggle search on
siting weather sensors, and spend some time
really planning your installation. In some
cases you may need to build or buy radation
shields to get accurate temperature readings.
Or you may have to re-think the placement
of wind sensors, etc. My unit seems to
track accurately all parameters when compared
to both the NWS site nearby, and a ham
neighbor who has a much higher priced
Davis station only a few blocks away.

For under $170 bucks, you won't beat this
unit. Pay some time and attention with the
install. Carefully weather proof connections
similar to an antenna installation...then
shake the unit out a bit. You'll be pleased!
