Terrible Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Hoped to be able to do a positive review. Sent a detailed letter on the problems and spoke to the gentleman (whose name I won't mention here) three separate times. Came back doing the same thing it did when it left. Total waste of time, shipping costs, etc. Just don't bother.

ALS1300 Repair-Fantastic Service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My brother gave me an ALS1300 that was in need of repair. He had received the amp with the mod-10mk installed. The paperwork for the mod was not enclosed with the amp, so it was not known the input had to be less than 30W for 10/12meters. 50w was driven into the amp, blowing a final. I told Stan about the mishap when I sent it to Ameritron. I sent it with the PS and they replaced the final, and tested it with the PS.
Then they sent it back to me with no charges even though it was out of warranty.
It was truly a great experience and I sincerely thank the crew at Ameritron on their fantastic tech support

No Communication with customers. Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Update 4/22/2021 Amp was send back after 5 weeks. Although I am happy it did not take the 8-12 weeks I feel they could of communicate better. End result bad power supply board due to quality control.

I sent my ALS 606 for warranty repair. I babied the amp. After reading other forums clearly Ameritron has a problem with their solid state amps. After calling numerous times to find out if the amp was there I got through. I asked the simple question. Do you have my amp? Answer: We have know way to find out because we have truckloads of amps in for repair. What kind of answer is that? After they finally found my amp I asked a simple question of what is the turn around time: We probably will look at it in 8-12 weeks. Ameritron knows they have a problem. I purchased the amp from DX engineering. I think all companies selling Ameritron solid state amps should pause all sales until Ameritron gets their act together. The amp will be in the shop longer then I used it. Again I babied it from new. Never above 1.3. driving it at 50w. I use it only on the weekends maybe 6 hrs of total operating time on the weekend. Its a shame. Stay away from Ameritron service.

ALS1300 amp repair Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Well I have owned Amertitrons for years, Al 811A , Al80B
Als1300 , I was testing my amp on 10 meters for the contest.
The amp click and never came on again, I did help ticket and they did a said they were backed up.
NO communication unless i call or email them . Sent it in on Xmas week , They did not look at until Feb 2020, If i new this was going to be this long , i would have repaired it myself. One final was replaced and I called every week .
I asked do you have estimate when it will even be looked at , two more weeks.
I will never send an amp in again , I will never own Ameritron amp again. Absolutely JUNK .

Still have not received invoice or email , tracking number nothing ! They charged my card so I guess its on its way.
I have been ham for over 28 years , the only finial i blew was my CB radio I was 18 years old weak design flaw, I have steppir and dummy load and tuned antennas.
Interesting I could not a find bad review ?

AL-80B clone Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The experience with Ameritron was good considering the circumstances. My hat is off to Rob@Ameritron.

Given a non functioning AL80B. Upon inspection it had the plate cap and the plate inductor fried. Sent it to Ameritron and now the fun begins.

Hereis what I learned from Ameritron. The amplifier was built from Ameritron parts, but not a Ameritron factory built amplifier.

Rob got the amplifier running with the exception of the ALC and the reflected power meter. The amplifier is using mostly Ameritron parts. There were so many mistakes that the person did when he tried to clone the AL80B. Rob was able to get most of the issues resolved, with the exception of the ALC and the reflected SWR meter reading. He said there were parts and wires that he had no idea were for. I appreciate what he did.

I would give a 5 out of 5 had Rob either brought the clone back to Ameritron factory specs or repaired the 2 remaining issues, but it was a pleasure working with him and having him do what he did for an amplifier that was not built by Ameritron. For that type of service alone, the next amplifier I buy will be an Ameritron.

AL-1500 arced when I turned it on. Found one fuse
blown, replaced fuse arced again. Gave up on repair
took it Ameritron in Starksville, MS. Repair took
about a hour while I stood around and got in the

Excellent Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I sent my 811H back for a new T/R relay. Total time lapse was 10 days - 6 in transit, 2 weekend, 2 to get it fixed. The work was done well. Packed well on return. Rob is a pleasure to work with. That is as good as it gets.

AL 82 Service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Can't say enough about the service from Ameritron.I had some issues with my AL82 and even though it was out of warranty they stood by it. I own an AL82 and an AL811H. Both do as advertised and are keepers.
