Good for Emergency / Portable Power Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I give this a 4 only because a 5 would indicate it is absolutely ideal/perfect, which it is not at that level, for me. However, for the price paid ($205 shipped) this is a great little generator. I purchased this in 2003 as a group purchase with 3 other hams. I cannot find this model on Coleman's site currently, which may mean it has been replaced by another model.

What holds this up from a 5 is that I would prefer a non-gas/oil mix engine as this has proved to be difficult to start at times, but once started runs OK.

The application this is best for is keeping gel cells charged in the field (I do not recommend plugging power supllies directly to this for operating your radio as power output regultion may vary with engine power and could cause harm to your gear even though there is a regulator employed here). Use of a power protection grid in bewteen your gear is the better way to go if not using gel cells.

I also would not run the full 1100W watts through this as it can tax the engine some. But it is sufficent to run a 100W radio, small light, and low draw laptop computer.
