No problem here! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have two of these supplies and have never detected any kind of RF noise. All of my antennas are fed with coax. I suspect some of those having problems are using indoor or wire fed antennas.

One fine Power Supply Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had mine for 4 years now and it is working great.

It is supplying my IC756Pro2 and my K2. It is standing on the desk between the two rigs.

I do detect minor insignificant noise on the Pro2 on the low bands from the Samlex. But that is only if I have turned off all electrical equipment in my house (telephones, printers, PC's, TV's etc etc).

On the K2 absolutely *NOTHING* is detected.

Its a work horse and I really like it.

Can you say "noise generator"? Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Okay power supply, but not great. Likes to generate noise on the lower HF bands.
Had mine a couple of days and sold it.

Nice small PS Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I picked up one of these power supplies recently to power my HF rigs and amps. It is a good power supply for what you pay for them ($50-60 used). I did have to add my own binding posts, since they don't come with that. Also, I wonder about the 22amps constant rating. I tried powering a VHF amplifier that should have been right around that value, and the Samlex made a little noise. Not sure if it was being pushed too hard or not.

The fan, which rarely comes on, is pretty quiet, and I haven't noticed any hash with it. This PS will power a 100 watt HF rig with no problem, even on full power RTTY. It also has the smallest footprint of any 20A switching power supply I have found.

Recommended for any HF/VHF rig, as long as you don't try to run a 160 watt amp on it.

Some problems Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Openning the box, I was surprised at the size. It powers my Yaesu FT920 at 23a draw max without making noise or causing hash. The good things

The Bad: One of the binding posts was incorrectly installed and its screw so tight that it had striped the screw. The iluminated power switch had a flaw that would not allow it to power off.

My email to Samlex remains unanswered after 48 hours.

The 3 year warranty is nice but I am wondering if I should have got the Yaesu supply.

Good and small Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have used the 1223 for several years with no problems. Its exactly the same supply that Yaesu
and Icom sell at a lower price. There is one bad spot on 80 meters and the only thing lacking is to be able to adjust where the noise spur occurs as with my Alinco supply. For the size and price you can't beat it.

Takes a Lickin' n Keeps on Tickin'... Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Over THREE years of use in the shack and it's still Tickin'! Warranty is LongTime - Voltage appears Constant under load but adjustable INSIDE - about as Small as you can make it - circuit includes Very adequate Switching Noise Suppressing making unit quiet on HF - MODULAR Power Cord makes switching Lengths and styles a Snap - Rear Power Connection - Front Panel Illuminated On/Off paddle switch. One possible Negative comment: the Rear Power Output Connector is a Banana Plug style. The Hole for wire is quite Small. You have to literally Force the Plastic-covered nuts off the threads to use a Round Terminal Lug... IF you are not content with Spade Lugs. I like this unit So much that I own not one not two but THREE of 'em... what does this tell you about My Personal Opinion? This unit gets the wv4r FIVE-Star Rating because of All the PLUSes! 73 es God bless, murf.

Does everything it should Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I intially bought my Samlex 1223 for "holiday radio" use because of its size and weight but I'm now using it for base station operation as well. It powers my IC706mkIIG which I use mainly on 6 metres SSB and CW. Running 100 watts it barely gets warm and the fan has never been activated. During occasional forays on to the HF bands I haven't noticed any spurious emissions. In summary: it's perfect!

Very good!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have used this power supply with my Kenwood TS50, SG2020, Yaesu FT707. No problems, even peaking 130 watts on the Kenwood. Also, contrary to some other reports, no RF whine whatsoever like some other switching supplies I have tried. This one is a real winner! I plan to buy a second one soon ...
