Small Size, Big Performance. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Silent, small, what more could you need ? Great for portable work or using in hotels etc.

I've had mine around 10 years, which must say something.

No issues with RFI or any sort of noise.

This is a simple, no frills psu. No meters, voltage or amperage adjustment. No extra terminals.

Probably the best compact psu on the market.

I'm looking forward to ( at least ) another 10 years use!

Great Power Supply Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Until now, I have owned only Astron power supplies. As part of my new HF package, I ordered the Samlex SEC 1223 and the performance of this unit so far is as good as Astron. Bottom line: the SEC 1223 is light weight, dependable, and affordable.

Good but noisy fan Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This is my 2nd 1223, wish Id never sold the first one, I had it in Southern Spain for 6 years, it was on 24/7 and the fan rarely kicked in, even after 3 or 4 hours of heavy 6m use in the height of the Spanish summer with 100watts output the Fan only kicked in once or twice in the whole 6 years, I sold it on my return to the UK, I regretted it so purchased another, it has completley different connectors on the rear but otherwise is identical, unfortunatley this is why it gets a 4, the Fan on this Unit kicks in after about 10 minutes of CW ragchewing or half a dozen contacts, the PSU works fine but the Fan is unbeleivably noisy, so much so I have to wear Headphones, the fan noise would be unnacceptable if I was operating on SSB, I dont think I will be keeping this one

It can be quiet Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
The Samlex 1223 is known for having rfi issues. There is a fix posted prominently on the web which I applied. It cut the noise down to 1 S unit or so across the 160 meter and 80 meter bands. This is where the noise is most noticeable. On battery power the K3 has no noise level at night on these bands. Power up the Samlex and the racket is about every 20khz. I finally settled on 5 ferrites wrapped close to the power supply which leaves an audible noise but below S1. What remains of the noise is radiated from the power lead and the case. It isn't really noticeable until you couple the antenna. I can do this by touching the antenna and the power leads or supply case. IF the antenna was more conventional ie at the end of a coax run of 50 or 100 ft.......I don't think it would present any noise issues at all. They have been around for years and they are tanks. This one is putting out 13.9 volts and will supply 23 amps continuously. They are small. They are silent.

Has worked 8 yrs 24x7 Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I just realized my SEC 1223 has been running silently for 8 years, 24x7. Only time its been turned off is to move it to the park for Field Day or during power outages. Its totally silent, I think there is a fan in there, but not sure since I've never heard it. Plus, its small enough it can be put almost anywhere. No cool meters or lights, but the radios have those. I would definitely purchase another if they are still available.

Very Good Power Supply! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I bought two of these from GigaParts. I use one to power my FT-857D, the other to power my IC706MII in my go kit. I have not had problems with birdies. These supplies are small, and light weight compared to my Astron and Pyramid units. More than ample quiet, clean power, with a small low profile unit. I wish I had bought them sooner!

Basic but no problems. Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been running the Samlex 1223 for over 2 years now on my TS-570. I often run SSTV and RTTY at full 100 watts output. Never had a problem from this unit. I purchased this unit off ebay from a Fire Department that was updating their equipment. Not sure how old it is but I have never experienced any birdies from it. Good basic powersupply.

Decent Power Supply Time Owned: more than 12 months.
In the 5+ years I have owned this power supply, I have never had a problem with it running a radio from 160 meters to 70 cm. It did put out some RFI hash that I could pick up on 160 & 80 meters, but I placed a couple of the MFJ snap on toroids on the AC power cord & the DC leads and that cleared up the noise. I would not hesitate to purchase another Samlex product

Good for the price Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Its a pretty good supply. I use it for the my other HF rig thats used for digital modes. The only thing i hate is the terrible connection posts. You push your wires into this hole and screw down from the top for connection. The screw is your connection. Its not the best connectivity IMHO. I prefer the Astron linear supply's approach to connections. I have not seen or heard any hash on the bands.

Been Good for Me Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been using this power supply for a couple of years with various 100 watt HF rigs. It has worked perfectly and I do not have birdies or hash.
