Still like new! Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've had this antenna up since 2003/2004. I took it down to reposition it and it still looks like new and has always faithfully worked to date. I even had the 40-6m version at another qth and it was equal to its big brother. Gary is no longer making these antennas and its our loss. I see the new G5RV's and honestly they look like junk as compared to mine. I'm glad I got this antenna when they were availiable. 73's

Excellent Product Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have the 80-6 Meter version and it works great. I am using an MFJ-949E antenna tuner and the SWR on all bands is less than 1.3:1 and in most cases 1:1.

The antenna is fully insulated, ruggedly constructed and is built to last. I replaced a homebrew or some cheap commercial imitation G5RV that had ladder line and bare copper wire. There is no comparison -- the HF Antennas model is clearly superior.

Gary Cannon, the owner, spent time on the phone with me describing his product and offering suggestions for the easiest and most efficient installation. He promptly responds to e-mails and phone calls.

I highly recommend this product.

Value with no compromise.. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had a WA2NAN 160m G5RV. Used it on 160 one weekend, worked great. Had very strong, yet lightweight center insulator, super 300 ohm windowline matching section, came with high quality coax + PL 259. Critics called the center insulator nothing more than fence post insulators. Well, it's strong enough for any dipole application yet lightweight. Coax of better quality than I have purchased elsewhere. It was fine, cost more, but worth it. The wire however, was frustrating to untangle, and comprised of not enough strands, in my opinion but still worth the extra bux.
However, after moving to a 100x200 foot lot, needed what would fit per available trees.

Enter the KC7BZT version by Gary Cannon:
Mine is suspended over my roof 23' above ridge cap, averaging 45' above ground.

I already had coax. Already had support rope. Wanted inexpensive entry into an 80m G5RV. Looked for days on eBay, comparing 102 foot wires. Found this one.

I was captivated by the UV resistant black insulated, 14 gauge- 41 strand "Qflex" tinned copper antenna wire. Each of the 41 strands is individually tinned.
I am very pleased. Easiest to raise dipole I've ever had. The no kink, super flexible antenna wire is PERFECT. The center "insulator" is extemely durable, lightweight. Gary's HFantennas construction also utilizes shrink tubing. The matching section, though solid, non window, appears to be more durable than any 300 ohm line I have ever seen, and wind tends to go around it more easily than it would go through it, had it been windowline.

Terminated with PL 259, includes barrel connector.
Communication with Gary was prompt and courteous.

The end insulators are lightweight and just the ticket. They are thoughtfully made with two holes on one side, of a perfect diameter, so that adding tails is quick and easy, yet will stay put- it couldn't be easier. Which, is exactly what I needed. The end isulators may be plastic, but they are lightweight, and correct for the application- not overkill, but rather, just right.
My installation required 8' tails to fit my space and be several feet from branches.

Overall, extremely well conceived and implemented. And at a Buy Now price of $25.99, unbeatable. One of the best priced and best made wires out there. No compromise on quality here.

One cannot expect miracles, it's a G5RV, and as they go, initially they all perform about the same given similar installation. The difference is in materials used, thoughtful attention to detail, caring construction, and especially, the no kink, strong, flexible, black insulated antenna wire. A most hassle free antenna at a fair price.

I've paid more for antennas, of lesser quality. Ironically, this is the least I've ever paid for a commercially made wire, while achieving the highest quality.

If you care not to deal with running windowline into the shack, this could be just the ticket- and even at full retail web-site pricing, it is worth the cost.
