Review Summary For : Hi-Q-4/80 TAD, Tune-A-Dipole
Reviews: 1MSRP: 595.00
Description:
This is the MOST popular Hi-Q TAD (Tune-A-Dipole) antenna!
Earned it's reputation all over the world where the "REALESTATE" for Ham antennas are scarce!
Some use of it has shown up on PARKED cars and the coax cable run up to the rig in the shack with the LEGAL limit behing it!!!
When used with a 16" dia Hi-Q-CapHat, 2' extention rod the TOTAL Tip to Tip lenght is; 14', yes that is FOURTEEN FEET!
Continuously tunable from 10-80 M ( or 10-160 on the -160 version)take the legal power.
Some use of is on TOP of the tower for those who want 40-80 and 160 M at the towers heigh!
When the CC&R restriction really squize you, then put it on the TryPod in your backyard, attic or balcony.
If monted permanently on top of a tower or structure then its radiation efficiency can be GREATLY improoved it a longer whip with LARGER CapHat is used.
Take a look at the pix; my QSO withthe VK's on 80 M.
GET REAL, STOP fooling around with RF DISSIPATORS an resistors for antenna, WORK the WORLD with a Hi-Q-TAD!!!

Great Antenna for Limited Space & Field Days Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was impressed with this little beauty. It functioned as it should, it worked as it should and 5-9 reports into VK3, VK2 and VK5 from California on 75m. Yes 75m. I can say with honesty that Charlie has come up with an antenna for the space concious minded ham who needs to put up a good signal with little room for big antennas at his QTH. This is also a very nice portable antenna for those that do field day. Keep'em coming Charlie.
