Very nice Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I got a chance to test drive this rig at Gigaparts in Huntsville, al. The radio was hooked to an icom 706. The dsp in the speaker is very good. I tested the rig with no processing, with the 706's dsp (pretty nice), with no rig DSP and just the Gap, very good, and with both rig and speaker DSP - excellent.

I personally have a Clear Speech speaker (pre Heil) and think the Gap is a bit more functional, but a bit smaller and perhaps more fragile.

However - it does a great job at reducing noise at least as well or better than my Clear Speech.
I may get one for my car.

Great filter Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have had this speaker for about 8 months now, and use it all the time in the shack as well as mobil. It does a remarkable job of clearing away noise to make unreadable signals readable. I find the build quality to be excellent with firm fitting connections and solid construction all around.
There are several filter settings, and the highest levels create considerable distortion, but those near the middle range work very well. It takes just a few minutes of experimenting to find one that is comfortable listening.
I have used it now with all 13 hf rigs I have with excellent results.
I would recommend this speaker to anyone

Not to happy Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Looks nice, very small. Not what I expected after using Clearspeech speakers and base units. Lots of popping and weird noises. Works ok about 1/3 of the time. I will keep it, to proud to sell to a ham buddy.

Poor Quality dc plug Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Poor quality D C plug. Called Gap & was told That`s it. Plug loose & makes poor contact when mobile. No offer from Gap to fix the problem.

Great sound! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I've used this speaker for only one day, but I am impressed enough to write a quick review. It seems like a lot of money for a little speaker ($150), but the DSP hidden inside is wonderful. I can't imagine using a radio without one these in the future. If you use the more aggressive DSP settings from 6 through 8, there is a lot of artifact noise that replaces the normal reciever buzz, hiss , and crackle. It sounds like space age water dripping in an echo chamber. The lower settings give unbelievable good noise reduction AND good audio fidelity. Also, on broadcast AM band it made the stations sound like FM mono! On 160M band it transformed signals that were down in the noise and only copying a few words into 100% easy to hear signals.
