Still going Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Well just before Christmas the old FTV250 had seen better days. There was a dry joint some where. I tracked it down to the 2 transistor PA Stage. I re-biased the 2N5591 PA . Retuned the pre-amp . Ran it up to Max power 12w and feed it
into a Diawa HL180 Linear ! ( 125 w output ) Then
hardline all the way to a 10 element beam. On
1-1-19 the Sporadic E came in from VK 2,3,5.
I worked 15 stations and some over 2500 kms away.
FT8 will make all the obsolete gear finally obsolete 73 Murray ZL3MH

I am still using both the FTV650b on 6m. It is working real well. The FTV250 has a linear disortion problem on TX but I mainly use the 6m transverter

After 7 years I am still using the FTV250 and the FTV650b.
The Transverters are now used with a FT101zd MK3.
I am mainly on FO-29 and AO-7 and 6m

All the best Murray ZL3MH

I have the FTV650b and the FTV250 hocked up to
my FT101zd mk2. Both work well. This is my VHF
station. The FTV650b I run bearfoot to a 4 element
6m beam. The 250 I run into a AM17 ( 500w ). I
use it to work DX on 2m to VK and the North Island
of New Zealand. 73 Murray ZL3MH
