Made a Great Radio even better! Time Owned: N.A.
I recently bought a Inrad Roofing Filter and 1.8khz SSB filter from my FT1000MP Field. The filters have been fantastic. Being in a antenna restricted area, I am forced with less than optimal antennas, which some of them being in close proximity to RFI generators in the house. The roofing filter has helped block some of this broadband noise and actually made operating more enjoyable with a much lower noise floor. I had a delivery issue with USPS (appears that they lost my package in transit) and had to contact Inrad Customer Service. They were top notch with getting the issue resolved. Great Product and Great Company to deal with. Thank you George, Georgia, and Laurie

Outstanding ! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Improvements after installing the INRAD Filter:
1. Quieted Radio
2.Great improvement in weak signal reception
3.Tremendous improvement in close in selectivity
and strong signal rejection when operating in
narrow DX Windows, crowded band condx/pileups.

The passband curve plots supplied by the MFGR confirm the difference in performance. The installation is simple and WELL worth the investment - thus saving an a much larger investment in a new radio. Randy W7TJ

Glad I Did ! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I installed the Roofing Filter in my Mark V Field. It is ver easy to install and a big help knocking down interference and hash. It also quiets the receiver down also.

Same FD experience Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
We used my FT1000MP (original) at Field Day this year and everyone who used it, loved it. We were a 1A class so we didn't have other transmitters nearby on the same band, but the performance on the crowded SSB and CW segments was appreciated by all. I added the INRAD roofing filter last fall and I felt it had improved the receiver at my QTH, but the real "acid test" was Field Day. One of our more serious contest operators raved about how the receiver sounded to him. Clearly, the filter was money well spent for this rig.

Huge Improvement Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Used in my MarkV Field at Field Day this year. Operated 40CW - probably the toughest test of a receiver. I feel the roofing filter was a huge improvement in rejecting competing signals and removing that growling hash of intermod garbage you usually get in the background under crowded conditions. It made the Field compare favorably to the Orion I took out last year - not as good but close.

Interesting that many other radios at our site had problems with overloaded front ends from all the close-by RF floating around. Mine did not. I think the roofing filter may have helped with that as well.

Great Addition Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
If you believe, as many of us do, that the FT-1000D is one of the top radios of all time, then it would be a crime to not add the InRad roofing filter.

It takes about 20 minutes start to finish to install, and it does do its job - in crowded conditions, you will see that the weak station is more copiable.

For such a reasonable price, it makes no sense to NOT improve this already great radio, given the reasonable investment in time and money.

IC-765 Roofing Filter Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I recently installed one of these roofing filters in my IC-765. Filter installation was extremely easy - removal of radio's chassis bottom cover and basic soldering skills are all that's required. The action of the new filter is noticeable during crowded band conditions, especially during contests when lots of close-in signals are present. Before, the rig got overloaded by these signals but that effect with the new filter is nearly non-existent. It also seems to have improved weak-signal detection which is a major boon at my noisy QTH. I would highly recommend installing one of these filters if you have an IC-765 - it makes an already great rig even better.
