Failed, No product support Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I used my DX-DD antenna for five years in rainy Vancouver. It worked okay for a while, then the SWR became high and erratic. Although rated at 1000 watts CW, the ISO-RES (tm) coils, made with fine 19 AWG enamel wire, are NOT robust. In wet weather, one of the coils started arcing and burned up, partially melting the plastic coil support. I sent emails with a photo to Alpha Delta asking if I could purchase new coils. Alpha Delta did not respond — they do NOT provide technical support. NOTE: I was able to repair the antenna by winding new coils, this time with 16 AWG wire (use 81 turns on a 1 5/8” OD PVC pipe). I was able to re-tune the repaired antenna for both 40M & 80M. The new coils handle a KW without overheating.

Solidly Built 40/80 Dipole and Works Perfectly Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've been using mine at about 35 feet in a N-S orientation for the past 5 years and it works superbly on both 40 & 80, though 80 needs a tuner to cover the whole band. Definitely capable of DX on 40 and surprisingly good on 80 even at 35 feet...would of course be better higher up, but easily works the East Coast from from here in the Bay Area. Handles a KW easily.

More versatile with simple mod Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought this antenna at least 25 years ago and it has always done well on 80/40, but rather narrow banded on 80/75 meters. So I removed the center coax connector and replaced it with a simple connector for balanced feedline. I chose 300 ohm window line for it because of less wind loading than the 450 ohm ladderline. Using a external tuner with 4:1 balun, I can now cover the entire 80/75 meter band with fine reports, plus I can now use the 40 meter section for all bands from 40 thru 6 meters with NO feedline loss or SWR problems. It's a well made, rugged antenna, and my modification makes it even more versatile.

good dipole Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had the dx-dd for a year or so and have no complaints.Works fine, very heavy duty antenna.Works 40 and 80 without a tuner and is only 82 feet long. With a tuner I worked 20 and 30meters on it, no problem.I got it because I could work 80 and 40 with no traps and no tuner.
