Durable Workhorse Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought this TNC in 1989, while enrolled as a computer science major at Rochester Institute of Technology. A few of the hams on campus set up a small network and experimented with node placement for digipeater efficacy. I had to build a cable to connect my Kenwood TH25AT to the Tiny-2. I modified a very cheap magnetic mount CB antenna and placed it on the metal window frame of my dorm, below the large clock on the Kate Gleason tower. I later added a 20 Watt linear amplifier between the radio and antenna. The BBS world was still ramping up and internet was still new and mostly limited to college campus use and military. This TNC was an excellent work horse for many years and one of the longest lasting electronic products I have owned. I sold it in 2002 when we had our daughter, and I never tried replacing EPROM units or using it for APRS. I Miss my Tiny-2 TNC.

Best TNC ever Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I own multiple TNC modems but at the moment i have 3 Tiny-2 MK2 tnc's running at two locations.
Two are runnin UI-DIGI and one is running TheNet X-1j4 netrom node firmware.

The Tnc's are easy to use an perform very wel on vhf.
For getting them to run TheNet you need to make some modfications as on most of the TNC2 clones.

Before buying one check if the DCD board is in it so you can work open squelched.

Good APRS Node Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have been using two for over two years and neither one has caused a problem yet. Reliable and well built. Both of mine are used as APRS nodes and run 24/7. No problems. I like these TNC's better than most. FIVE STARS

Good Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Recently upgraded from a 16-year-old TINY2 MK1 to the MK2 version, I was always happy with the original TINY2 but the MK2 version is just that bit better. There is now a switch on the back panel to switch from standard AX25V2 to WA8DED host mode. The commands have not changed much but have just increased in number. If you want a basic VHF TNC then you will not go very far wrong with the TINY2 MK2 and, depending on the version of firmware, you can easily use the TINY2 with a GPS and APRS software.

P.S. The same day I received my MK2 version the MK1 version died, I think it felt rejected !!
