Bad Quality Control Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I agree with KE9UW. His review prompted me to inspect both my HBH50 baluns. As with his, my units has solder lugs that would not "tin". Replacing the lugs effectively repaired the baluns. So, buyer be aware!

Well engineered, poor soldering Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I like this company, but this balun came with very poor soldering inside. The engineering and design is very good...excellent...however whoever soldered the leads of the balun needs some help. One lead inside the box was not soldered at all...soldering was attempted, but the wire was loose on the solder lug. I had to peel off blobs of RTV (all over the solder connections for some reason) and replace the lugs with lugs that were solderable. Took about 1/2 hour.
I recommend this product, but you must take the cover off and inspect (and possibly repair) the sloppy soldering workmanship. The toroid winding was done well, leads tinned, and generally constructed very well.
