Functionally good, questionable quality Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Owned and used very lightly for 1-1/2 years and the switch became intermittent. Never dropped or abused.

Ordered replacement switches from DigiKey and replaced. These are unfortunately the same manufacturer - "Cherry" and Made in Mexico.

Old switch wires were just tack soldered on - not mechanically attached/soldered.

There is a black piece of plastic which is the finger trigger that mates onto the switch - but it just kept falling off so I glued it (thankfully with non permanent glue).

Based on prior reviews here Heil should make an effort and source a better switch and speak to their assemblers about basic soldering practices.

Works Great Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I picked up Two of these in a trade deal & I really like them.I use the FS-2 with one radio but I use the HS-2 with two different radios now.Great product as I expected from HEIL Sound & I own a lot of their products & love all of it.

Outstanding! Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Picked an HS2 up from an estate sale. Great feel and utility. The cable is a bit heavy, so I replaced it with a lighter cable. Like it better than a foot switch.

I bought this item many years ago and it still works as it did when new.

Light, ergonomic Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Been using an HS2 for a while, it works great and has been reliable. Use it nightly on several nets. Very comfortable in my hand and it works better for me than a footswitch.

Fragile Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Don't drop this switch on the floor or the leedle black button on top can pop off.

Just received mine from DX Engineering. Great ergonomics and no complaints.

Nice switch Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is my favorite PTT switch but you should buy two at a time as the actual Cherry brand push button switch fails. You can source the new switch but the case will only take opening and closing a few times before the screw holes are stripped. And removing the trigger button and reusing is no small task.

I have bought at least 10 of these over the years.

Poor Quality Time Owned: N.A.
Mine failed with less than 1.5 five years of light use. It looks like new but the internal "Cherry" switch is very intermittent. It doesn't work have of the time.

Poor Quality Switch Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I purchased this HS-2 about a 1 1/2 years ago. The switch is great to use and very comfortable in my hand, but I have had two problems with it.
#1- After about 4 months of use, I had to resolder the red and black wires to the switch because of cold solder joints. The unit worked very well after that until now.
#2- The switch works intermittently and keys and un-keys the radio when I press on the switch. The switch seems to be of poor quality and is a sealed unit requiring you to purchase another one or modifying it to replace just the switch. I think HEIL needs to purchase a better quality switch to use in the HS-2.

Love this hand switch. Smooth operation and does what it's suppose to do.
