Nice Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Very ergonomic. A pleasure to use.

3, 4, or 13 oz. to squeeze the trigger. If you can't do it, use VOX.

Easy PTT Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I estimate the trigger pull on mine is around 3 to 4 oz.

The grip is like a sub compact 9 mm. It seems to leave the pinky finger half hanging. I would have preferred it to be about 1/4 inch longer or shorter. No big deal. It's still a 5 in my book.

It seems well built. I don't notice myself using it at all. I unkey a lot so it's the next best thing to VOX.

Very Easy to Use Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
The pistol grip and easy to push switch are a pleasure. I have had mine for quite some time now with no problems. It appears to be reasonably durable. I like the straight cord although a coiled cord version might be a nice alternative. A previous reviewer complained that it was difficult to push the trigger. I think he needs to get down to the gym and work out a little. This switch is smooth and easy.

Very nice to use, light touch. Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I really like this hand switch and can only find one fault with it. It should have a coiled cord. With my Heil Pro headset on and this hand switch in service it seems i spend more time untangling the cables from my feet and legs rather then talking. Some people prefer the straight cable and others like me prefer the coiled cable. Hey Bob,, how about making this an option when ordering. Thx.

13-ounces to activate Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
The Heil web site lists one of the HS-2 features as "Very light touch trigger switch." This is an untrue statement as this switch is anything but light touch. It takes approximatley 13 ounces to activate the switch. I presumed the switch used on the HS-2 would have similar qualities to the very good microswitch installed on the Goldline series of microphones but it does not.

I used a Krups scale to measure the resistance in ounces on both switches. The Goldline microswitch takes about 4 ounces to activate which makes it comfortable and pleasing to use on the air. The HS-2 takes approximately 13 ounces to activate which makes it very tiring on the index finger.

Nice touch!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Literally...a nice touch! Push-to talk (PTT) "buttons" up to this point have been fatiguing to use, to say the least; the HS-2 is new and (as advertised) it is ergonomic; it has a "pistol type" grip which, to say the least, is a pleasure to hold and use. Sometimes I do not want to use vox with a boom-mounted mic (or head set)and the HS-2 has been a blessing; I also use it on a Heil ICM with my Icom 970H (never will part with that) and that rig does not have vox, so the switch is most welcomed; seems well made and should take many years of useage. If you have and use a Heil mic, this is, indeed.....a nice touch!
