Review Summary For : Array Solutions Powermaster
Reviews: 182MSRP: 525.
Description:
5% accuracy, temperature and frequency compensated, 1.8-54 MHz, peak-hold modes, bargraph display of power and SWR for easy antenna system matching, PC programmable via RS232, more.

I use two of these meters in my own station, no suprises there for sure, they are great! But we're adding features you may want to know about. The accuracy is NOW 3% with our HP equipment technique which calibrates out more uncertainty. The coupler heads are interchangeable from HF to uWaves with the new LITE 3.0, and all instruments in the field will be upgradable to a new feature, the COUPLER SCANNER. It will automatically scan multiple couplers for you. Pretty cool stuff. AND more features to come.

Product is in production

Absolutely wonderful Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
What a great company to deal with. It arrived quickly, installed without a hitch and has been a fabulous addition to the shack. I don't miss the old analog meter with the forward, set, adjust and reverse switches a bit. It's nice to join the 21st century with this meter.

The ease in which this computer driven device was installed is remarkable. The alarm capeabillity is worth it's weight in gold.I can instantly detect any degradation in my antenna system. Well done Array Solutions!

An excellent product Time Owned: N.A.
I have been using my new Powermaster in my "shack" for a few days now. I already have a variety of analog instruments for measuring forward and reflected power... including two Bird wattmeters, the wattmeter/SWR meter contained in my antenna tuner, and a scope that can display the output of several different types of r.f. "sniffers" I use.

I agree that the Powermaster readings correlate very well with the Bird readings. [It is possible that the Powermaster readings are the most accurate]

It is very useful, and lots of fun, to control the Powermaster settings with my computer mouse, and to display the Powermaster readings on my computer display.

Some wish-list future capabilities:

A. The ability to display average power readings on AM signals... that would not be effected by modulation

B. The ability to display true peak readings that capture modulation peaks when the mudulation components contain frequencies up to around 3 kHz. I thought about inserting a fast "precision" peak detector, with a 0.1 second decay time, between the sensor and the meter... but, unfortunately, the output of the sensor is already bandlimited to frequencies well below the frequencies I would have hoped to capture with a peak detector.

It IS the answer! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I can verify the accuracy of the PowerMaster. It is the claimed +/-3%. The unit has the fastest display of all. When your radio should do 100 watts out on SSB, that IS what the PowerMaster displays, each and every time.
It IS the answer to PEP RF power measurement, short of a calibrated oscilloscope and line sampler.

A Magnificent Device Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
I have been promising Jay that I would submit some feedback on his phenomenal Power Master and, being a master of procrastination, I have been slow to post. However, having just ordered my second unit, I felt it was time. Obviously, any product that is reviewed on eHam and has received a 5.0 out of 5.0 seventy three times has got to be very special to the ham community. I have been licensed and active for over 57 years. And, over those years, I have purchased and operated many pieces of equipment, from boat anchors to Orion’s. As a fraternity, we tend to excuse poor performance of our rigs costing thousands of dollars while eviscerating the manufacturers of our ancillary goodies. I, along with 73 previous posters, salute you Jay for your technical expertise in creating this masterpiece. In addition, I thank you for being a most willing partner in my enjoyment of my passion for ham radio. Bravo-Zulu, Sir.

EXACT Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After a few weeks of having PowerMaster in series with the Bird, and having them "exactly" agree, everytime on every band (160-6M),I retired the Bird.
The ability to immediately, "digitally" see changes while tuning/loading the Amplifier, after changing Bands and/or antennas, and knowing the reading is absolutely accurate is priceless.
The ability to Alarm on High, SWR or Output, and disable the switching line to the Amplifier, helps to make me mistake proof.
A great product, with helpful pre-sale and after-sale support. Thanks Jay.

I recieved this from my son W3ADX for Christmas This is the best watt meter I have ever used. Customer service was very good I had a couple questions about hooking up to my amp so I gave them a call 2nd ring and I was talking to someone who really cares about there products. The software was really easy to hook up and it works great No problems at all.
