Don't bother Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Bought one a year ago for a short trip I had coming up.
The First one I bought was D.O.A.
The Second one works but the "up" slewing button seems to have a mind of it's own.
Need to change the batteries and don't want to lose your memories? I've seen Yoga positions that are easier than the contortions you'll have to do to accomplish that.
All in all there are much better options out there.

Sensitive on AM Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I saw this for "buy-it-now" price of $17.99 (plus shipping). I wanted a digital radio for its stability (and memories) to take to Florida for vacation. The results were surprising. This radio was "reconditioned" - a new one goes for about $30.

On the AM BCB, signals can be heard at night almost every 10 kHz indicating good sensitivity. (The AM band stops at 1610kHz, though). Many strong SW stations were received by scanning and then saving the stations in memory. The sound on FM was pretty good, too.

There are 30 memories (10 on each band AM/FM/SW).

I don't know (yet) about the battery drain, but there is a section in the manual about how to minimize current drain (use the sleep timer at night, keep the volume low, don't use the backlight, etc.). I am still using the same set of batteries after a week of use. Time will tell if this turns out to be an issue.

This turned out to be an inexpensive little radio with surprisingly good performance, especially on the AM band. The audio sounds clear and there is no noticeable distortion.

There is a jack for an external power adaptor, but I have yet to find anything that indicates if the center pin is positive or negative.
