| An antenna for limited space that just works |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
| I reviewed the predecessor to this antenna (the 20/40) almost four years ago. I'm still an apartment dweller, and still can't leave anything set up. Since that first review, I've tried several commercial and home-brew portable verticals, dipoles (e. g., the Buddipole) and others. But I keep coming back to the End-Fed. Nothing that can be quickly put up and taken down works as well. I now hang the matchbox from the eaves, and support the far end with a painter's pole. And it just works - every time. |

| Amazing Antenna! |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
When I decided to become a ham, I needed an stealth antenna, which would not take a lot of room (I live in a townhouse development with restrictions)
After a lot of research, I decided upon the ef-10-20-40.
I was not dissapointed! easy to tune, quality construction, and stealthy looks. Performance on rc and tx are amazing!
Made first contacts on 10 meter ssb phone to following locations: Ecuador, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, Galapagos Is.
Antenna feedpoint is at 8 feet slopes to 18 feet up then down is a sort of inverted v.
I have contacted Dale on the phone and he is a delight to talk to, extremely helpful.

| A great antenna! |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
| I use the PAR EF-10/20/40 in the field with my Ten Tec Argonaut 515 and Yaesu FT-897 and am delighted with the performance. I toss the antenna up into a tree and use it as a "sloper" and have had excellent signal reports on SSB. In the summer I sometimes leave the antenna up in my yard and use it with the Argonaut outside on a table working QRP on warm Nevada nights. When I travel in the desert I keep the antenna in a box along with my FT-897 in case of emergency. PAR's customer service is outstanding also. I cannot recommend this antenna enough! |

| Great antenna, great service |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
I purchased this as a portable antenna, but am now using it as a complement to my vertical. I swapped out the 40 meter stub for one cut for 60 meters. SWR is 1.1:1 and very flat on 10 and 20, below 2:1 on 60. Performance on 10 and 20 is close to my vertical. An ongoing power company noise problem prevents my utilizing it on 60 meters, but I am sure it will work fine.
The best part is the excellent service and knowledge of the Dale, the owner. He has helped me with my special situation, offering a number of suggestions.
I can recommend the company and the product. |

| Excellent addition to my station!!! |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
Without hesitation I give this product a 5.0! In need of a portable multiband antenna which can be fed with coax, I read the reviews and nearly every review on Par Electronics was excellent. After a few questions to Dale, I ordered the EF-10/20/40 and received it within 6 days to Guam, talk about fast shipping! Customer service was one of the major selling points for Par Electronics and I was not disappointed, Dale was quick to respond to my questions and shipping status.
The antenna is well built with quality materials and appears it could handle the standard abuse of portable ops or even a permanent installation without any problems. A manual was provided in addition to the parts required to permanently attach the wire after tuning.
After finally getting some time to try it out, I threw it up between two trees, about 20' feet up. Conditions on 20 were rough and any station is DX from Guam. SWR was flat across 20/10 and covered the first 100khz of 40. First contact was JA6BJS (1500 miles) in Japan followed by JO7CVU (1700 miles). Responded to a CQ from VK2ACX (3300 miles) as well. Initial impressions are excellent and I highly recommend this antenna. Signal reports were good despite QRM and poor propogation (no miracles, it just worked as advertised). As stated on the website, this antenna does not need a tuner and I found the SWR flat across 20 meters, so if you are looking for a portable wire antenna that can be thrown up in 10 minutes, this is not a bad choice. |

| great product |

After spending a lot of time building wire aerials i was recommended the "qrp rated" Par EF 10-20-40,"just another over priced antenna, over here" i said!, on looking at the previous reviews and checking the current price i was sold on it.
I exchanged a few emails with Dale over the next couple of days (all answered within 2 hours !), the aerial was sent on saturday and got to me within 7 working days.
i have mounted the feed end at 15ft just above the shack it then slopes upto the end @ 28ft, its fed with rg213 milspec coax, which is coiled 6 turns @ 6"dia to form a choke.
The tuning is very easy, just follow the instruction sheet! (complete with clear pictures).
20m is tuned for 14,220 ssb phone 1.1:1 no worse than 1.3:1 @ 14.350
40m " " " 7.065 " " " " no worse than 1.3:1 at 7.200
10m falls in place if 20m is tuned correctly.
"on air" the aerial is quiet, and so far on 20m is 1-2 s points up on my cobra ultra lite on rx,
i have not had the time or the right qso to do a direct comparison on tx.
In short, well built, hangs up real easy (light weight) and it works, if i can hear them, i can work em, worked v01 on 8 watts on an almost dead band 5/7-8 report, 20 mins not word missed either way, no rf in the shack, i run a lot of audio gear, thats a quick way to find out if you have rf problems.
last of all the service, Dale answers all questions quickly and honestly,(the ham sprit is still alive !).
Buy with confidence...

| Upon reading many good reviews on this antenna, I decided to give it a try for myself. Dale was very fast to respond to my queries and had one to me inside a week...excellent customer service. The antenna uses high quality components in its construction and was very simple to tune using the instructions provided. I have made many contacts using this antenna over the past months, and can say that it does work well and is great for portable QRP operations. |

| Good choice |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
Antenna arrived this week and was erected today. Straight out of the box it had low VSWR on 10,20 and 40m but a few inches off the main section pulled it spot on.
Immediately worked over 200kms on 28MHz ground wave with 10W SSB, then worked a new IOTA island on 20m! At its highest point it is only around 20 feet. Overall it seems to work well and without an ATU.
Warning - if in the UK and buying from the USA you will get stung for VAT and "Royal Mail Handling Charge" of £8, which is a tax by another name. These add around 30% to the price. |

| Great portable antenna! |
Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. |
First the antenna: Great product, does what Par says it will do and got me on the air and making contacts in minutes. I strung it up as a horizontal dipole 6' off the ground at my Inlaws' home. I was getting 59 reports at 5w and 2.5w with my 817. As they say, you can't work what you can't hear, but I heard many stations on all three bands that day. I've never heard as many stations on 10m as I did that day.
Construction seems excellent, no complaints there.
Service: Wow! I emailed Par on a Wednesday afternoon to find out if they had any in stock. I got a reply later that afternoon saying they did not, but they could fit me in. I placed my order that evening, receiving confirmation a short time later. The antenna shipped Thursday and I had it Friday afternoon in time for my trip. Every email I've sent Dale was answered that same day, if not mere minutes later. Very impressive service.
This is going to be my travel-pack antenna to go along with my FT-817nd. |

Am very pleased with this antenna, just purchased shortened a few inches to get on 40 cw end, took it down on vacation to the Smokies in Pigeon Forge, threw one end over a tree limb, brought other end down to a tripod with a wooden dow rod, about 7 ft off the deck, set up my K-1 with battery power out on the deck of the cabin on a small table & called cq, got an answer the first call at 4 watts, worked 32 stations in 4 days, morning & evening, a few said it was hard to believe how good 4 watts could sound. It seemed to work equally as well on 20 & 40 meters.
Also Dale,s service, answers, & shipment was second to none.
Thank you,
