great antenna great price Time Owned: N.A.
was looking for an efficient and portable antenna for my ft817nd. after reviewing the lit. most of the antennas are way too short to be efficient especially with low power. i dont care how neat or portable some of these antennas are-big antennas outperform small ones. the dx-1 extends to 20 feet and the length of the slinky radiator is over 60 feet. you must use a tuner with this antenna, i use a mfj 16010, as it is a random length vertical. its a neat package ,easy to set up and carry. i compared it to my gap and they are virtuall identical in performance and a lot cheaper. it could even be used as a very good home station antenna. ralph n. w9lkj
