Perfect for the job. Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
We are now using this product on the GB3DT UHF link and results so far are it works better and was cheaper than the home-brew original.

it works.... Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have used the hamtronix interface for one week and it works but so does a cabel between your radio and computer and that is what you get from hamtronix.
The interface is basically an optocoupler (for ptt)in a plastic box. There are no DTMF decoder as stated in the specifacation. There are no isolation between your radio and your computer. There are no way to adjust signal levels.
However if you look inside the box the pcb is prepered for isolation transformers and pots for level adjustments. an option ?

for $49 you can do a lot better !!
