easy to handle Time Owned: more than 12 months.
got this key
as a xmas present few years ago
i found it to be
easy to learn, easy to handle, easy to use

( results may vary you may not
find it easy to use )

you do not need to slap it
like a Vibroplex
to get good solid dits

my version of the key

uses a small relay under the key
for transmitter keying

so it did not die in a puff of smoke
when late one night
after 4 home brew beers

i hooked it to a cathode keyed
mopa 6AG7 6L6 glow bug transmitter
and made a few rag chew contacts

my copy of the key
uses a relay under the base
for keying ( not a transister )

but
do not know how much abuse the relay
can take
( so mostly use my old Lightning bug
or straight key for cathode keyed rigs )

have run it for many hours
with a grid block keyed transmitters
no probs so far

so what do i not like about it

well
its mostly subjective
i do not care much for chrome
the finger pieces
are too close to each other
but
all in all, i like it
think its a keeper
gets lots of use in my shack

Fantastic!! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This key, although comparatively expensive, is the finest bug I've had the pleasure to use. I had some reservation about the cost, but that disappeared as soon as a opened and began to play with the key.

Operation is light, silky smooth, and precise. In other words, it handles like no other bug I've ever owned or used. Keying is totally effortless.

The optical contacts completely eliminate contact bounce and scratch, and greatly simplify setup and adjustment compared to the standard bug. The small downside is that external power (13.8 vdc nominal) is required, and you can't use one of these on a typical cathode-keyed vintage radio without a separate keying relay.

Workmanship, fit and finish are absolutely beyond reproach -- a fine piece of craftsmanship, and a wonderful key.
