Review Summary For : DX Engineering Hairpin Matching Systems
Reviews: 2MSRP: 24.95
Description:
Most Yagi antennas have a feedpoint impedance of about 25 ohms.Obviously, this will not allow a connection to a 50-ohm feed-line without a serious mismatch. There are various ways to match the driven element to the feed-line successfully. Gamma, T-Match, and the Hairpin (aka Beta Match) are favorites.

The Gamma match is an unbalanced system that typically distorts the antenna pattern. The T-match is basically 2 Gamma match systems on either side of the boom, which corrects the imbalance but is a mechanical nightmare and is difficult to tune correctly.

The DX Engineering Hairpin is balanced and easy to tune. It has the correct electrical and mechanical design to allow it to be easily installed and tuned in 10 minutes and has enough capacity for almost any Yagi design.

DX Engineering offers 3 Hairpin Matching System to accommodate a variety of Boom Sizes:

- DXE-HMS-4P: Hairpin Matching System, 3'' Boom
- DXE-HMS-1P: Hairpin Matching System, 2'' Boom
- DXE-HMS-2P: Hairpin Matching System, 1-1/2'' Boom
Product is in production

Great Product Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I just used the larger hairpin with their 5K 1:1 balun on a homemade 4 ele 17m yagi. It matched in second adjustment, and yagi is a great performer. I have been pleased with everything they sell.

Hairpin match for yagi Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just got through building my first mono-band yagi antenna for 17-meter band.
I'm not sure if it's woking right or not, BUT the antenna is highly directional, has VERY good f/b performance, and f/s is also very good.
So I'm thinking the matching device is working properly or the PATTERN would be badly skewed.
Over all I am very pleased with the DX Enginering Hairpin Match.
