Belt clip needs a re-working Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I purchased this handheld to use while flying. The radio feels great in your hand and has a nice sound. It is fairly easy to program.

Unfortunately this radio kept breaking squelch on me. The swivel belt clip is a bad idea. There were a few occasions where the radio came off the belt clip.

I ended up returning this radio, and may end up purchasing an older HT.

Unlike the previous review, mine does transmit. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Only had it a few days but I like it, good transmit and receive. ANL feature works very well, eliminating ingition noise in my Suzuki, PA-28 and a PA-17. More later as I gain experience with the unit.

spend your money on an ICOM Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Good rcv audio, nice big display. Could not complete a radio check on Unicom even while standing on the flightline. Transmit output power was way under 1/10 of a watt. Very bad! Emailed customer service numerous times, never rcvd a response.
A radio that doesn't work and poor customer service...not good! I sent mine back to the dealer and traded up to the Icom A-24. It worked great right out of the box...just as it should. Spend your money on an Icom not the Vertex.
