Not as good as MixW, not many features and expensive! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Well I played with the trial version for a day and can honestly say I am not impressed. First, I was attracted by the two reviews here saying how good it was at decoding CW. Like one other person, I can't keep up with the high speed guys 25+ WPM in contest so I need something like this program at times. I have been using MixW which does a very good job. But could something be better? MRP40 is not better than MixW. The program is jerky (taxing on the computer resources?) and the decoding was not superior to MixW, and may even have been a little worse. Not to mention MixW offers other modes, rig control, and a built in logging program. MixW is not "jerky" when operating on most computers like MRP40 was for me. MixW gives you a file to install on any computer you own so transporting the program around from one computer to another is pretty easy. The way I understand MRP40 licensing is that any time you move the program on to a different computer, you have to get another key from the author! That can be a problem when the author stops supporting the program. Finally when you compare the cost of MixW which is rich in features, to MRP40 which is pretty basic, MixW comes out the clear winner and MixW is less expensive than MRP40. Try MixW against MRP40 yourself (MixW also has two decoding methods that you can select between) and you'll see how good MixW is. Maybe at $20 MRP40 might have been a good value, but at over $60, no way. I'll stick with MixW.

The best cw decoder, none better! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
MRP40 is a rock solid program. I've used it since V 3.73 and there's no comparison. This program works! It decodes even the weakest signals and performs effortlessly. I've used different cw decoders but none can compete with MRP40. Norbert did his homework on this program and it's money well spent.

Excellent Product and easy to use. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I was looking for a Morse Code Decoder to help me with those high speed cw contest operators...the 40wpm+ guys. The MRP40 software did the job and did it very well. I also tried the decoder with WriteLog and CWGet but the MRP40 program is far superior. I haven't tried the transmit portion yet, so I can't comment on that.

If you want to try it, just download a 15 day trial program from Norbert Pieper's website listed above. Also, note the price is in Euro dollars and goes up 1-1-2003.
