excellent build quality Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I bought this item because of the other reviews
here. The build quality really jumps out. The upper two thirds is very flexible. I've never owned an HT
with a BNC connector. I can't see the point of
paying extra for a waterproof model and putting a
non-waterproof antenna on it. I found an even
lower-profile SMA adapter than the black Diamond model.I'm going to encapsulate the BNC connector and SMA adapter with black silicone sealant for
waterproofing.

Beats Yaesu's and Larsen's Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I've used Icom's dualband duck on a 32AT and FT-470 and couldn't be happier. On the analyzer it is a tad more broadbanded than the Larsen, but not so much that you'd notice on an HT. When swapped in place of the Yaesu duck, the Icom had a noticeable increase in S/N. The slight length advantage over the Larsen seems to help on 440 a bit. You can sometimes find these on Epay for under $10. Well worth it, and buy a spare!

Great Antenna Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I am using this antenna on my new Icom ic 92ad.

after ordering the Diamond rh 519 to replace the origional antenna that came on the ic 92ad, I decided to experiment with the Icom FA 1443b antenna that came on my Icom ic T7H HT. (you will have to buy a sma to bnc adapter as the FA 1443B uses a bnc connector)

Well,,I have to admit that the Diamond RH 519 was an improvement over the stock antenna,, but when i connected the FA 1443B to the ht,,,i seen the same diffrence in performance over the RH 519 as the RH 519 had over the stock antenna.

me and a friend tested out the 3 antennas on simplex and the FA 1443B showed more on my s-meter when i was recieving my friend and he said that my signal was one s-unit more when i used the FA 1443B.

during the test,,he couldnt tell any diffrence between the Diamond rh 519 and the origional antenna that came on the ic 92ad,, but i could tell that it did recieve better than the origional and usually gave a solid s-unit where with the origional it was blinky. but the FA1443B was defenitly the better of the three.

i know that the Diamond in a popular replacement antenna over the factory antennas that usually come on the ht's, but you can do yourself a favor and spend the money and buy one of these and have more antenna for the buck, i think they are priced about the same price.

anyway,,i hope this info helps

GREAT! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Nice, flexible, mobile antenna. Good signal reports from my ICOM V8 on 0.5 watts and receives all local repeaters that I do in my automobile V8000.

Bought mine on eBay for $10.50, plus S/H of $4.50.
