PST-2051 The best rotator Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This winter my Yaesu G-800S has broken, so i ned to select a new rotator, searching and asking friends, i finnaly select the PST 2051. The pictures and the coments in the internet was very good, so i write Gianni, and the rotator is now in my tower. MY BEST PURCHASE in radio in the last years, sure. The stuff is really profesional, heavy and well constructed. My antennas, a 4 ele A$ a 6el cuschcraft 10m boom and a 144 also 10m boom, this is a heavy winter area, but the PST 2051 can manage all the antenna system very well. Thanks Gianni by this professional product for the ham market.

Great! Class act! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Just before the holidays my T2x tore itself appart in moderate winds. Its gone throught them before without any damage. But I guess that sort of thing can sneek up on you. I'm turning an X9 with an A3WS 12 ft above it on the mast at the top of a GennMartin 60ft tower with Voyager 7 Hazer.

I opened the T2x case an dumped out the broken teeth and unjammed the brake wedge. The ring gear along with two of the gears are toast. The wedge does not travel without jamming about 50% of the time. Its only 4 years old.

Well I looked and checked all of the possible choices and prices for replacement. I noticed the ProSisTel Big Boy Rotors on the Array Solutions web site and thought at first, "I can never afford one of those monsters!" But after seeing the pricing I knew what my choice was going to be.

I ordered the PS-51 from Jay at Array (Rhymes too!) and it arrived in a few days. I got it installed and the antennas back up in about two hours and I used the original 8 wire rotor cable that was runing the T2x. Its only about 250 ft. Everything has been working well since then.

The PS-51 is a piece of machinery and not a clockwork castmetal toy. If anything destroys the PS-51 then you can bet my tower and antennas will be gone too. It did not fit my rotor plate directly but by enlarging the plate holes by about half a diameter it went down fine.

Simply the Best Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I have had the PST2051 for about 18 months now, which was bought fron Vine (Ron) and has sat in my tower working every day of the week, in all weathers.

Living at the very top of the Outer Hebrides soon sorts the men from the boys, 60-70Mph winds are common and the odd 140+ at times.

Just need to find a nice 12 element yagi for 50 now that will stand up to the winds.

PRO.SIS.TEL have done a great job and I will be buying another PST for my second tower in the summer. FAB

Excellent Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Hello

My name is Bill Rogers and I am an English SWL.
To be more exact I live in Yorkshire on top of a hill. I have a X-9 beam and recently my THIRD
Yaesu G-1000SDX stripped its gears in the wind.
I took it apart, and no wonder. There is no brake and the gears are all made of what we call "shite
metal". Well, I looked around for something better and saw the PST range. I rang Vine Electronics. They suggested a PST2051B.I did not know about this rotator but had heard good things about Vine, and decided to visit them to have a look at these units. They looked very good. Even better they had a used unit.
Mr Vine explained that he had had this unit under test for three weeks, and there had never been any problems. I know another three hams with these rotators, and none of them have had any problems at all. I was interested in purchase, but in view of the history of the unit, wanted a good discount. Being a Yorkshireman, this is important hi...I got a VERY good discount so decided to buy it, on the basis of money back if no good.

I took it back home, fitted it to my tower and for
three weeks now it has been working perfectly. It is built with industrial gears and a worm-drive. Iespecially like the preset heading feature. Great!
I'm in agriculture and know quality when I see it.
M0CTQ said that he had trouble after two weeks.
Well, I will give it another month and then tell Eham readers how it still is. It is working perfectly for me.

unreliable Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Bought what looked like a good quality rugged rotator on 24/9/01 it lasted 10 days just stopped working vine antennas replaced it with a complete new unit after i changed the control cable.the new one did a little better worked perfect for 12 days or so then the control box started reading what it liked but not where the antenna was pointing. i am sure they work very well but my two did not, more trouble than enough.I will write another review when i get number 3, come back my little reliable yaesu.

The Best Rotator I Hvae ever used Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Hi all,
I used to run a Cushcraft X9 rotating it with a Yaesu 1000SDX rotator, well after the 4th one broke and as I was changing the antenna for a Force 12 C31XR (14 full size elements on a 31ft boom)I decided to try something else.I had never heard of Prosistal before, but I thought any company that offers a 2 year warranty on their product must have very good faith in it,so I went ahead and bought a Prosistal PST 61B(Not to sure if I have the model Number correct, but there is only one bigger Rotator in the range).I installed it Feb of this year and am very very pleased with it.It turns my C31 even in the biggest gale force winds and has never given me a moments trouble, and it is also virtually silent in operation and the beam heading is always bang on.I would recomend this product to anyone.I live in a quite elevated QTH approx 1000ft asl,so when the wind starts howling down off the Minera mountain it tests all my hardware, pity the Yaesu Rotators could,nt handle it,no problem for the Prosistal.

Great rotors Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I replaced two Ham V rotors with the PS-51 rotors. They easily turn the same arrays in winds that caused the Ham V's to almost stall. They're great for UHF too because they aren't limited to stopping where the brake notches happen to be.

PST71 The best Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
Having had a KR2800SDX which broke into pieces after the first storm I went for what is advertised as the big boy rotator PST71, its a very well constructed rotator and far superiour to any other commercial i've ever seen. Its the only rotator that is capable of turning my stack.
The only draw back might be the size but having a big tower this was no issue for me

PST 51 Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Replaced my HDR300A with a PST51 in Dec of 1999. Was not happy with keyway on the 300 and the wind had turned it past the south stop. It took a while to get the pst51 but it looks like a nice built rotor. The antenna is a 6element force 12 with a 30 ft boom. Handles it like a breeze. North Dakota winds can be very hard on things.
