All my Icom equipment goes to Matt. He's up front with you and does exactly what he says he'll do. He repaired my 706MKII but was unable to fix my 7000. Both had been in a shack hit by lightning. I appreciated his honesty on what was fixable and what wasn't. Thanks Matt, Steve Aulick, n0vcu.

Sent my 706 MK II to Matt and he let me know what to expect and when to expect it. No surprizes, he did just what he said he'd do. I won't send my Icoms anywhere else. Steve, n0vcu |

| Matt makes radio repair a pleasure! |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
My trusty Icom 756Pro served me well for 10+ years until the Power Amplifier transistor failed. A couple of days after shipping the rig to Matt, I received a telephone call with the diagnosis and the exact cost to repair on Monday. The same day, I received notice that the IC-756Pro was repaired and shipped back to me via UPS!
UPS delivered the package this afternoon (Friday). The rig is back on the desk and looks and works like new. In fact, it appears that the rig was thoroughly cleaned as if new from the factory. And, most important, the rig transmits and receives great!
Even though I forgot to tell Matt that the external speaker jack was intermittent, Matt discovered the problem during his examination and fixed it! Matt's is very conscientious and diligent.
I was considering purchasing a new rig; however, this radio will likely serve my purposes well into the future.
The quality of Matt's work and extraordinary customer service exceeds expectations. The prices are fair, and service is great.
Thank you, Matt! |

| Superb Technician |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
| This review is long overdue (my apologies Matt). I've sent several Icom rigs to Matt over the past several years and have always been completely satisfied with his technical expertise, excellent communication skills and reasonable fees. If you have an Icom rig, and live on this side of the country, I'd strongly encourage giving his Michigan based Icom Service Center a try. I think you'll be pleased. |

| Picked up a hamfest special $5 Icom R5 that was trashed cosmetically & functionally. Sent Matt the R5 and a new case from Icom. He replaced the case, ear phone jack and fixed damaged traces on the PC board. Matt is a top shelf technician and all around nice guy. Charges were VERY reasonable. 73 de Bob, N2OAM |

| IC-910H |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
| IC-910H had no audio out on rear speaker jacks, internal speaker or front headphone jack. Not only did Matt fix that problem, he found jumpers that had not been istalled on the DSP filters. He also tweaked the receiver. He called me to explain what had been done and get cc number. I could not believe the price.(half of what I thought it would be)Received it back at the shack 2 weeks to the day I shipped it to him. After hearing the horror stories of the Icom Service Center, I am glad I shipped it to Matt. |

I have sent my Pro II so many times to Matt Adrian I have lost count. I think the last time was #4. I took a lightning hit on my PC, although the radios were disconnected from antennas and power supplies, the lightning went out thru the serial port card and into both my Icom and Yaesu, I lost my PC control and my RTTY keying on the Pro II, As usual Matt was relatively painless.
This time my rig arrived home before I even gave Matt my CC number, now that is service. Thanks Matt!

| 756 PRO II |
Time Owned: N.A. |
| I sent Matt a pro II that has had some very bad luck.First last year during a snowstorm it stopped transmitting,Then this summer before it could be sent in for repair it was hit by lightning took out some other parts i suppose. Then while inspecting the rf-a board i managed to damage it further by breaking off a inductor coil while plugging up a coaxial cable with my big thumb. So i said to myself i had better send it to get it repaired before i broke anything else.So i decided based on what i read here to send it to Matt and boy am i glad i did,Matt was to the point and about 3 week turn around and very quick to answer any questions i had and he didn't mind fixing what i had broke. And let me say this i expected a huge bill at the least 300.00 or so and when he told me the actual charges including return shipping i am not joking i almost fell outta my chair 142.00 was the bill and let me tell you i was shocked beyond belief that he fixed all that damage for this amount. All i can say is if your icom gets sick and you need it done in a reasonable time and charged a reasonable amount please call Matt..He is the man for me in the future for all of my Icom repair needs..Thank's Matt |

| Again, Superlative Service |
Time Owned: more than 12 months. |
Previously, Matt replaced a faulty shaft encoder on my IC-7800, and did an excellent job. Thus, when my old IC-730's preamp relay died (a common problem with the 730), I shipped it to Matt for the repair. As before, the repair was superlative, and he even took care of problems that I didn't know existed. All for a very reasonable cost. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Matt Adrian at SAR Technical Services, Inc. in St. Joseph, MI for any repair work on ICOM rigs. In addition, the careful attention to detail in packing it for the return trip to IL was very appreciated as well. Thanks Matt!

I recently acquired an ICOM IC-7800 from a very good friend. The Main VFO shaft encoder had some problems, so I e-mailed Matt concerning this. He replied very quickly and gave me a rough estimate for the repair. Rather than shipping this behemoth, I decided to enjoy a day trip, and drive it up to Matt from my location in east central Illinois. The next day, I called him and we set up an appointment for a "carry in" repair since I only live 200 miles from St. Joseph. When making the appointment on the phone with Matt, he told me that he would complete the repair while I waited, making a return trip unnecessary. I arrived at Matt's shop at around 10:40AM eastern, and he said "Don, go have lunch at one of the local restaurant's near I-94, and come back at noon - it will be ready." Amazing... after lunch, I returned to Matt's place at 12:10PM, and it was ready! Not only did he replace the faulty Main VFO shaft encoder, he gave the IC-7800 a thorough check out, and updated the firmware - all for an extremely reasonable amount of money. In fact, the total repair bill was less than what it would have cost to ship the IC-7800 to Matt via UPS Ground!
Not only is his technical expertise and quality of repair beyond reproach, Matt's simply a very nice and caring person. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for any, and all, ICOM repairs.
Thanks Matt, you made my day most enjoyable! |

| Quality, timely service, and good communications. |
Time Owned: 3 to 6 months. |
| My new IC-7000 suddenly went POP and quit working one day while I was just listening to it. I checked the main fuses and power supply, and they were fine, so I called Matt, based on what I have read in these reviews. Matt said to send him the radio, which was only 4 months old, and he would fix it. Well, I got the radio back in three weeks instead of the anticipated four, and Matt said he replaced a faulty internal fuse board and reset the idle current on the finals. I found Matt to be very courteous and he obviously values his customer relations. No brand of radio is any better than the service available, and SAR is as good as you could want. I recommend Matt and his company very highly. If your Icom needs repair, give him a ring. I don't believe you will be dissapointed. |

I sent a email to Matt and told him about the auto tuner on my Icom Pro 3 that only was working on 6 meters. Matt said to send it to him.
And within a week I got a call and he told me it was a couple of bad diodes on the tuner board, I told him to go ahead. It was only 1 hour of labor charge and he sent it out that afternoon. It was done in Feb but I wanted to wait atleast 6 months before I gsve the review as I dont give top reviews to just anyone. If any other of my Icom's devlop any problem I will not hesitate to sent it to Sar Technical Services Inc. Thanks again Matt.73 God Bless Rick N8BY |
