I sent my 746 Pro to Matt for the Notorius Back Light Failure. Turn around time less than 3 weeks to Ohio. Matt is ver profesional and Quick. Fixed another problem with ext. Spkr. Jack I didn't know I had Rates are Very reasonable. If you Have an ICOM Problem this is the Place to send it. Matt will also let you know when your radio was recieved for repair and When it is being Shipped to you so you will know when to expext it. I am very well Pleased.

No audio int. or ext. speaker Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Just a simple repair but too small for my eyes. As in the other reviews, Matt knows his "stuff", but that's not all that makes him great. It's the communication. When your expensive "baby" goes in the box and out the door all you have is communication. He let's you know that he has it, what's wrong, what it will cost and when you'll be back on the air. Very reassuring and the price is right.

This Guy is Fantastic. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I had a intermittent attenuated RX on my Pro 3, and after the problem finally persisted, I decided to send it to Matt.
Matt had about a two week backlog, so he didn't get to it right away, but he did eventually look into it. He found that when he disconnected an internal jumper the receive returned, but he wasn't satisfied with that, he persisted until he found the root cause, which was a broken intermittent trace between two components. He also found a problem that I didn't even know existed, which was poor RX on the AM broadcast bands. Anyhow, I got the rig back last night, and put it through its paces and it was great. It's like it was new.
The cost? $114 inclucing shipping back to me. Matt should be your ICOM guy, if he isn't already.

Fast + great service Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
My IC7K started showing vert high swr so after checking my antenna system and seeing it was very good I knew it was the radio. After looking through the reviews here on eham I decided to send it to Icom Service Center Michigan (SAR Technical Services, Inc.). I called first and was very plesantly surprized with Matt, he was very nice on the phone and told me what the problem was over the phone and a guestamate on the cost. He said it was a two week turn around time. In exactly 2 weeks he called me and explained all he did to it and cost. It was just what he said it he thoufgt the problem was and the cost was but a few dollars of what he said it might be. He did a Icom factory firmware upgrade too while it was there. After using the radio for some weeks now I feel it is working better than new. I will tell all my friends to use his service.

Superb customer service Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Matt does outstanding work. He is friendly and helpful when you call, he is quick with the repairs and he also goes the extra mile with repairs. I sent my Icom 7000 to him for repair as the transmitter was not putting out full power on all the bands. He found the problem, fixed it and did a ICOM factory driver upgrade while it was in the shop. He also aligned the rig and went over it twice to ensure it would perform to my needs. He answered my questions over the telephone and offered advice on how to avoid issues down the road. I have used his services several times and am pleased with each encounter.

Won't go anywhere else Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After sending two radios to another repair shop in NY and spending more than $600.00 I gave Matt my 718 for a attenuator problem. Matt gave me an estimate over the phone before I even sent the radio. And after repairs AND tune-up, my bill(including shipping) was less than the other repair shop wanted just for return shipping! Just like so many other reviews here, Matt is a gentleman, and I simply could not ask for better service. His repair costs are so reasonable you have to ask if there's been a mistake. He even called me at work to confirm my address so he could catch the UPS truck in time. Outstanding.

Great Service Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
Matt did an excellent job installing an INRAD roofing filter in my Icom 756 Pro III. He is polite, efficient and a real gentleman.

He also bailed me out of a horrible situation with Icom Service Center SouthEast. Matt understands that you are a customer; something the SouthEast Center still has to learn.

WHEN OTHER SAY NO YOU CAN COUNT ON MATT Time Owned: more than 12 months.
I had a high voltage power supply. It was too high by accident. I told other shops that are well know on eham about what happen to my radio. They say no they didn’t won’t to deal with it. Matt took it say no problem. Matt repairs were made promptly did all the firmware upgrades and at reasonable cost. What more can one ask for? The ICOM 746 PRO been running for 3 years now with no problem
